Just got word that they are going to start attempting to remove the chest tubes in Wyatt's chest. They are happy with his progress and believe they can remove the chest tubes one at a time without the pneumothorax coming back. I hope this trend continues so we can move forward.

Wyatt has been on a roll the last two days. They are in the process of taking out the second chest tube today as he didn't have any problems with them taking out the first. Every routine test they do on him has been coming back looking really good. In fact, he had the best blood gas this morning that he has had in his whole life. The doctors have been lowering his vent settings because of the last two blood gases they have gotten. We are hoping he continues on this trend and the doctors will switch him back to the conventional ventilator which is where he started. Keep the prayers coming because at this point they seem to be finding their mark! We are cautiously optimistic at this point because we know that he can change at any minute. Until that happens though, we are gonna ride this wave.

The doctors have switched Wyatt back to the conventional vent and are talking about taking him off of his blood pressure meds. This turning into an awesome day!

this is a miracle happening right in front of ya'll, and the good lord has plans for little wyatt. Words just can't explain how this story has touched me and my families life. Me and my wife have a 6 week old little boy, and we can't imagine what it would be like to go through something like this. We pray for ya'll daily, and now we don't have to mention to my little 2 1/2 year old little girl at bedtime prayers. The other night she mentioned baby wyatt on her own without us having to remind her, and tears are coming to my eyes as i type this. God bless ya'll

Here is a picture of Wyatt from a little while ago. This is the first time he has been on his stomach in a while. He looks so good today it is awe inspiring. Although, I am little biased!

Very awe inspiring!!!! I and, I'm sure others here as well, feel like I've been watching this little boy grow up!

Truly a miracle, babies are. In a couple of years, you'll look back and think, "Dang man, where has the time gone?!" Then, take him up to meet the great staff that helped make all of this possible! My wife did that recently with our little boy who is now 4!!! My wife said she started to shake when they got close to the NICU and teared up when she recognized the lady at the reception desk.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Duckgo he is 1 pound 11 ounces. He has gained 7 ounces and they aren't even feeding him yet.

Wanted to add another photo of Wyatt from a few minutes ago. He is doing so well tonight I am nervous. I know it is weird but I just worry something bad has to come with all this good. They lowered his vent setting again tonight because his blood gases are so good. Keep up the hard work guys you are getting to see your work payoff right in front of your eyes!

oh and I forgot to mention that he has gained another 3 ounces and is 2 ounces shy of 2 pounds! He is sitting pretty at 1 pound 14 ounces.

Keep those spirits high!!! He feeds off of that. The prayers shall continue and progress as well!

Well, really good news coming out of the NICU today! They have started feeding Wyatt breast milk. This could open up a new host of problems but it is progress. They are also weening him off of his steroids because his blood pressure and urine out put are so good. They are also weening him off his pain meds because he is tolerating everything so well All in all the best day he has had in his life, in my opinion!

man, that boy will be boating pheeses in no time!

Wyatt started feeds at 2 pm and tolerated it really well. They started the next round at 6 and we hope he continues to do well!
