|
Look at the size of that sucker!
|
A freind of mine killed some in texas and he said that when you wing them suckers it sounds like a airplane coming down.
|
What sound do these make? These cranes and whooping cranes look a lot alike except color. About 80% sure the ones I saw were gray but it was getting dark every time I saw em.
I'm just gonna see if I can find out what sound they make. |
Sounds kind of like a pidgeon kooing only louder and longer

You guys also have Crested Caracaras hanging in that area, only place I have seen them in Louisiana, a really cool raptor. |

Funny you mention that, there was/is a Gray Flycatcher that was spotted at White Lake and it was a pretty big deal, think it is still there if you want to see it and scratch it off you 'life list' of birds you have seen:) Only 2nd record for Louisiana |

them crested caracaras are cool as hell to watch. Watched 2 last year in sweetlake snatch 2 snow geese out of a body. Me and my dad watched them from the road for about 2 1/2 hours just flying around then ambush them snows. By far one of the coolest things to watch in person. |
