Yeah I'm about to do that, put led lights on the trailer, get a custom cover made , put a jack plate and the new 10' power pole, getting her ready for the spring!

After reading this thread, I had to go check myself.

$16,100 for 2011. :shaking: That includes boat payments, fuel, baits and everything else. Whoever said fun ain't cheap wasn't lying!

I usually fill up the boat around every 4 or 5 trips.
But this winter, I fished around 20 times on the same tank.
Fish were close to the launch.

I really do not want to know.....
Camp
Boat
Gas
Baits
Food
150+ days on the water a year

something that loses value is an investment? now I know I wouldn't be taking any investment advice from you!

I pay $80 in fuel when I go to hopedale, $10 to launch, 15$ in food and snacks. I split that cost half the time I go. If I go with someone else I usually fish out a bigger boat and spend the same in gas, launch and food. I usually go three times a month that is $295. I usually spend on bass fishing $30 in bait, between plastics, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. I usually spend about $350 for a rod and reel bout 3x a year. so thats 1050+360(tackle)+3540(gas,launch,snacks adv.)+ I usually spend $200 a year on boat maintance on my small 25hp johnson. that is just what I can think of = $5,150 yearly I also bought bigger truck last year, cost me 17k and my little boat I bought last year cost me $2500 that all equals $24,650

boatdriver 01-18-2012 11:17 PM

Roughly about $35,000+ a year, plus buying a third boat in three years. Over 175 days on the water. And that's just fishing alone.

You do not count, you "profit" on your trips. Living the dream, that is what you are doing...

You gotta mean you could sell it for "10grand", cause, surely you ain't sayin' you'd get "10grand" more than you paid for it.

Maybe 40 grand more than he paid for it. Kind of like a jersey worn by Jordan, just a Jordan jersey may only cost $80 but once he puts the jersey on you are looking at several times the orginal value. W has that type of impact. :help::help::help::help:

OK, the numbers are beginning to add up now. Thanks for the clarification.

No boat will EVER sell for more then what was paid for it; except a repo boat.
There is no way any boat gains value after it is purchased!
Period!!

True. And a Haynie ain't no different...they're all just a hole in the water to throw money in.

PUREBAY2200 01-18-2012 11:44 PM

When I say a repo I mean buying it for cheap from a bank and then finding another buyer and upping the price to turn a profit.
Original price 40k
Buy from bank 20k
Sell to person for 28k
Profit 8k
