i'm a plans examiner for south central planning in houma, LA. I oversee all residential construction in Terrebonne. Lafourche, St. James St. John, and Assumption parishes.

I own and operate Bayou Fiberglass in Pearl River,La.Nothing big or fancy just a small boat repair yard.I also build pirogues,mudboats,fiberglass duck blinds,icechests,etc.In the future I would like to strictly build boats and get away from repairing them.

Good luck with the interview man. My dad went through the same thing about a year and a half ago. After a little over 20 years with a company they decided to lay him off.

Owner/operator of home improvement business ie. vinyl siding, patio covers and continous gutters. When people ask what I like about owning my own business, my reply is " Besides the long hours, hard work, feast and famine cycles and 'cut-throat' competition, I love it!" I am feeling the recession big time in my area. New construction is down about 80%. Like the old saying ' what doesn't kill you will make you stronger'...
