I didn't say it hindered the performance of the rod, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm more comfortable with a Portuguese cork handle rod, therefore I perform better with such. The foam handle to me is less sensitive, therefore it would hinder my performance. Not knocking the rod, I've never thrown one. I have thrown another brand with a foam handle and didn't like it.

I prefer cork also, I think it has a lot to do with trout being a slimy fish and the cork gives a better grip than foam after the slim builds up during a trip. But saying cork is more sensitive I have to disagree, # 1 foam(evc) is lighter and will be as if not more sensitive. Most of your high end bass guys use it to make a living nuff said.

Batson GUIDES>>*and**are not made in China>> All of our Quality Guides and reelseats are made in Taiwan.*We feel the quaity is much better for these types of products produced in Taiwan. I have researched many different Chinesse component factories and have have yet been able to find one that has the quailty that the Batson TEAM expects.*

So the website is up and they have a lot of rods to choose from, various warranty options and the rods/funds to back them up. The rods have also changed a good bit in look and have higher quality components.

The website seems to cover All aspects of the rod from butt to tip.

Hope they do well, because their rods are light weight and strong; plus its a Louisiana Company using products all made in AMERICA!

Where did you find this quote and how old is it? Bill Batson has assured Duce that their rods are 100% made in the USA using components from the Great United States of America. Batson does have a factory overseas with a warehouse, design team, quality control department, etc but has assured Duce Rods that the components they have chosen for their rods are 100% USA. Duce purchases its components from Baston Enterprises in Washington and has them build in Houston, TX as per Duce Rods specifications.

Duce has met with numerous Attorneys to review the claims of Batson Enterprises prior to releasing their claim of USA made. Duce rods wanted to be sure of the strong statement they were making. Duce could've easily traveled to China and had rods made for a fraction of the cost but decided 100% USA made was more important than profit margins.

So the only way your claim can be true is if Bill Batson is lying to Duce Rods about the products they are buying. If that is the case and you would like to confirm it, I suggest you Contact Batson Enterprises to confirm your statement. 1.877.875.2381 or batson@batsonenterprises.com.

Good to know. These manufacturers move production locations so much it will make your head spin.

Wish Cade the best of luck. He is entering a tough market with a somewhat tarnished name. I hope he does well.
