The most compelling arguments along with links and paper trails for boycotting the STAR were discussed in some detail in this thread from 2015.

All you guys do is complain that big lake's reefs and habitat is shrinking and you support more limits?

Bow fishing: for people who can't fish.

CCA didn't limit your fishing opportunities; you can keep your 60 pickles and stay out all day if your little heart desires.

I support facts and data
If you can provide legit data to back a limt reduction im all for it but when "I" ask the CCA president why did he and CCA back the 15 trout limt here was my answer

Because it was the right thing to do

Lol, the real answer to that question is....
IMO CCA believed lowering the limits would also reduce the fishing pressure; call me selfish but I was a fan of less boats on Big Lake.

Unfortunately the reduced limit didn't releive the pressure.

These are my opinions only.

Lower limits don't decrease fishing pressure it increase pressure .

DaPointIsDaBomb 04-29-2016 12:42 PM

Lower limits, you guides make same money, less time on water = more money for you on an hourly basis. Didn't you initially support lower limits? If I had a guide service, I probably would, makes good business sense, just sayin.

I don't care about hours on the water , if my people want to fish from sun up to sun down we are fishing

I had limits at 7:45am and 8:3oam of trout last week and we still fished one day till 3pm ??

That statement should read. A bunch of guides believed that lowering the limits would reduce The number of Texas waders that came over and caught stringers of BIG trout aka fishing pressure. CCA backed them up w/ no clear facts that this would happen.
