fact is you would take the yellowfin over haynie in a heart beat. nobody here would take the haynie over they yellow. both 21footers top speed on yellowfin with a 250 is 75. haynie with a 225 is 60. you think with 25 more horses you cold hit 75? not a chance. yellowfin is a better built hull through and through. is haynie a good boat? yes but not as good as you think. just cause you own it doesnt make it the best.

I'll punch a hole in the side of all of em with my crawfish skiff! Just gotta give my 40 Merc enough time to catch em all! Dry ride and Yellowfin that!...And, no Dink, not ALL of us took off at noon today! Lol

BayBolt23 03-25-2011 09:59 PM

Been a Haynie owner for a month now & really enjoying it. Easier to clean better on fuel & easier to haul. Don't regret buying it so far. Fishing all weekend it that biotch

flounder_smacker 03-25-2011 10:00 PM

salty if you have the urge to catch a trout the previous owner of our camp dumped 2 barges of oysters in front the peir. he says at night under the lights no problem to catch 100 trout. we could weigh everyone on 3 diff bogas. then lie about it.

Hey, I tried that a couple years ago on Big Lake. First time...it was a blast. Most of 'em were in the 5-7 lb. range.....nothin' real big. Musta caught 500.

"W" 03-25-2011 10:09 PM

I don't doubt Haynie boats are made with quality and service in mind. They wouldn't be selling like they are if they weren't. However, it's probably a good thing that you guys that bought 'em.....bought 'em during the "craze". The "craze" will end, eventually. The demand will diminish which will cause the current prices to drop. Then, that quality "your" getting now will drop. After making all this money, this dude will not all of a sudden drop his prices without lessening his quality.

I know of 4 guides just out of BSM marina that run rolled boats in the sound and work just perfect...no saying it can't go wrong cause wen it kicks up in the sound a
U can deff see them walls flexin good in a rolled boat...This is why I said that 24 haynie cat would be the ultimate hopedale/sound boat....

As a matter of fact before Barry from team bigfish passed a couple summers back Hydra sports sent him a 24 foot prototype bay cat and told him to run it for the summer and improve it in any way possible....it was an awsome boat and I wish they would have made it ..

I believe that was in 2008..... Hahaha

But for real I've got access to a 24 champ,24 skeeter, 22 champ, 24 triton & 22 ft Nautic star and 2 smaller skiff style boats..... I can take these out anytime. So I really don't have a reason to buy a boat at this time. I will eventually buy another, but I haven't found one I like enough to buy for the price point I'm at.

cajunhntr03 03-26-2011 11:01 AM

really out of control

the sides dont really flex on the 24 cat Sure it aint a cap boat But I dont see how dollar for dollar you can get a more versatile boat ,that fishing 3 or 4 people, easy to get in and out of wadin, runs good on 2-3' chops and still goes runs in 6-8 " of water
