First SC trounament, I got out in the water with no waders.
Water temp was 44 degrees. 20 mph West wind. Air temps were around 40 deg.

Nope. Went from 35 mph to 0 mph in about 10 ft.
1/2 way between Rabbit Island and where West Pass goes into West Cove.

jchief 12-21-2011 04:35 PM

Would strongly consider allowing prepayment and not have a morning check in. No landing has facilities that make it convienent for a large group to do this.

SaltyShaw 12-21-2011 04:37 PM

agreed with chief!! Lets do the weigh in at Heberts that way the people who want to rent a place for the weekend can

Ray 12-21-2011 04:40 PM

Agree with prepayment, but how do we know if someone isn't already fishing before start of trounament if no check in?

SaltyShaw 12-21-2011 04:48 PM

We can do like other tourneys and provide a weigh card for your team. Only way you can weigh in is with your weigh card imo

jchief 12-21-2011 04:49 PM

Trust

jchief 12-21-2011 04:50 PM

Plenty of other ways to cheat if they want to.

Ray 12-21-2011 04:51 PM

When do you give out the weigh cards?

I pasted over it evening before, 2 ft. of water.
Next morning, low tide, hard NW winds, 6 inches.
Didn't use my brain cell to figger out it was gonna be that low.
Hard hard bottom, lots of shell.

inchspinner 12-21-2011 05:17 PM

you still gotta catch that 26.9"er.....trust....they lie they know they cheated...

I agree. No early starts. Every tournament I have been in was like that.
Launch anywhere. But all leave from same location.

"W" 12-21-2011 06:10 PM

Hey have a whole lake to hang until go time....air horn will mean go...

Wake up the drunks in the hood.

blackmamba 12-21-2011 06:12 PM

People with smaller boats can launch way easier out of calc point and you can launch more at one time.

Place has not been decided yet. Needs to be big enuff for however many we sign up.

outcast 12-21-2011 06:21 PM

I really dont like the idea of bringing in dead fish. Too easy for someone to cheat. Put **** down the fishes throat. Putting a fish thats too long on ice, will shrink the fish and cause it to be a legal fish. I know everyone doesnt have a livewell. I also think we should allow a fish that measures 27" on the line to be legal. Every tournament ive ever fished does it this way

27" is good. Live won't work, or we will lose boats with no live wells.
We can have a .5 lb bonus for live fish. That will get more live fish to weigh.

"W" 12-21-2011 06:48 PM

We need a half lbs for live fish....

huntin fool 12-21-2011 07:06 PM

Ray... Been there done that, 1 side pot is plenty. It will have you pulling your hair out. Trust me.

And let waders wade. Shaw you want to wreck shop if we can wade? I got some of W's holes to wade that are killer for reds ;)

Lets roll my nickel! :pissed:

jchief 12-21-2011 08:19 PM

Agree with Brayden on 1 side pot, trash fish.

the McDonald's Big Bass tourneys all allow for people to launch anywhere and start fishing at a certain time.

I have been in tourney's with shot gun starts and have seen boats get run over at them.

Big Kahunaz 12-21-2011 08:20 PM

Count me in

McDonalds is 3000 boats not 20 :D

Everybody should leave from Launch and hang in open water around until the horn blows

I have fished atleast 10 tour like this and no one has ever had a problem

This keeps every body on the fare side

I bet it was Ryan undercover. Lol.

boatdriver 12-21-2011 09:54 PM

I would prefer to have a pinched tail weigh in. Everyone should use the weigh master's measuring stick to ensure they measure correctly. Just my 2 cents.

inchspinner 12-21-2011 10:05 PM

This is gonna go for another 50 days...im done ray use your plan..put it on paper and call it a day....see ya at the tourney...its gonna be fun like always....26.5" nasties.....cant wait..
