I wouldn't watch a Saints game if some one paid me to:shaking:

Everyone in our gang did well south of you; teal, a few mallards and widgeon.

the birds are there they said the front ponds and flooded pasture behind us are so full you can walk across them.

mallardhead 12-15-2012 03:04 PM

Hunted Klondike area this morning me and fatherinlaw killed 4 pintail, 2 mallard hens, 1 mottled duck, 5 greys and a speck was all singles and pairs no big groups. They worked very well.

fishnla 12-15-2012 03:53 PM

We hunted pine island this morning and the birds were there, but some people around us shoot at everything no matter how high they were.
With the fact we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn we still managed 8 teal (well 6 if you take away the 2 that the otter wanted more than us). Had many big groups come in on us and on the third pass or so gun shots would make them change their mind. Geese were all around, but same thing with them the few that we had work would think again when some a..hole whole pop a mile high shot at other birds. Better luck tomorrow. I guess it was better than being a work though.

Micah 12-27-2012 11:23 AM

Looks like another front tomorrow...hope everyone kills this weekend and into the new year.

DUCKGOGETTER 12-27-2012 11:58 AM

DUCKGOGETTER 12-27-2012 01:40 PM

The majority of people want rain, cold weather and north wind to hunt. I'll take a clear, 60 degrees for the lows with a strong south wind over that anyday.

Reefman 12-27-2012 04:41 PM

Chris, did ya go this past weekend in GC? We're still killing a few but you gonna have to get out the blind and go where there want to work. Handful of decoys is all that needed. Can't hunt the new areas too hard or they move out. North pasture is holding birds but can only get at em once a week. Still our hunting has been real good; better than in past years. I'll give it a B+. We should be shooting Widgeon and teal right now but not many holding in our area.

Hopefully bust some specks and a few snows tomorow. These geese stay here every day and have been since the beginning of the second split. They just rotate pieces. All these birds are within at most 300 yards of where I just went set up. Got within about 60 yards to the snows and they didn't bother to get up just riding by in a truck. Wish it was land I had permission to go on!. Attachment 44417
Attachment 44418these are about 50 specks and they had sone more farther down about that much.

same here we may see 15-20 teal a trip them grey ducks get smart. I spoke to a buddy of mine that guides for oak grove and he said last year they killed over 7,000 birds out of all their blinds and over 6,000 were teal. He said they have no teal this year and they are struggling.

DUCKGOGETTER 12-28-2012 11:27 AM

Good luck to everyone going this weekend
