Not even a 1/4 mile NE of where we hunt it's loaded with pintail and mallards. Makes me sick when I see all those ducks. Wish I could shoot them!

We will be back after em in the timber tomorrow

Had a good trip in Texas this morning, they have not had near the rain Louisiana has had. We had to hunt until almost 11 but we got our 24, lots of pintail. Myself and three co workers. I heard two good reports in south west Louisiana, most were really bad.

Going back to the Texas lease again in the am.

Jan 5th Pre-Rain Report
 

Hunted yesterday with #3 son. We onesyed and twosyed our way to a limit. The Bolivar Kid, Pants on the Ground and PotG's #1 son hunkered down in the lodge to avoid the inclement weather. We returned to the lodge just in time to watch it rain all day and evening. Still a pretty good time.

Looks like the rest of the crew should have ventured out with y'all instead of worrying about the weather.

With all that water in GC I decided to leave the ducks alone and made a great dove hunt on Sunday.....Pot roasting them for the game this evening. What a way to end the dove season...our best one yet!

i went sunday and the ducks are there, buy scattrered like a mofo. Ended the morning with 5 black jacks and 3 greays for 2 people. The first bird i killed sunday was a blackjack and it had a ban on it. With this rain we gonna get this week is just gonna make it worse.

We have gates we can open, but if we get the rain they are saying this week, I'm not sure it will be hunted during the week for someone to open it.

should have opened that sucker sunday, cause with 3-6 inches of rain no telling what it's gonna look like.

Not sure exactly how bad the weather is supposed to get, but i bet i've seen a couple thousand ducks, snows, blues and specks fly over aeroframe services this morning all headed north. Looks like they getting the hell out of dodge.

Me and Micah are gonna hunt the pasture again... with all this rain it should be looking good in there... Got two speck deeks we gonna throw out to try and entice them birds a little more. at first light the teal are hot but its hard to see em and all are passerby shots.

Gonna go scout some flooded pastures north of the road in GC. dem ducks are scattered all over now with all that rain we gettin'. Newly flooded fields will be the place to hunt till the end of season. Good luck guys!

Buddy hunted a recent flooded field in gc today. They smashed the Greys and teal. They normally do pretty well at their lease but have been struggling the past few days. Found them yesterday afternoon on some private property of there and laid the smack down on them. This late in the season the ducks are rafter up on big waters or in Newley flooded fields. They will be more spread out after all the rain we will be getting this week.

Made a hunt this morning... birds finally started to work good and I had to leave

With the rain this week and in the forcast for the weekend i'm gonna pass on gc.

My bosses husband killed 18 teal this am... gonna find out the details.
