Looking at the Frontier website, the 2104 is the only model that claims all composite construction.

bayouchub 08-12-2013 12:19 PM

The 2104 has wood.

I looked at the 2104 a few months ago and was told by the factory the boat had some wood in it, and my local salesman for Frontier confirmed it, he said the wood was mostly used for bracing. I don't think it makes it a bad boat actually the wood bracing might increase the strength of the boat, but of course it brings in the chance of rotting down the road.

black jack

My camp neighbor is selling his blackjack. Perfect shape 225 Yamaha/ t top power pole every other option. He does not fish much. Rides around listening to music. It would be a great boat to buy. Probably less than 100 hrs if interested call me at 337 942 1600

Let me rephrase. The hull, stringers, transom, decks, console, lids, and anything that provides any structural support at all is all composite. There are 2 pieces of marine grade, pressure treated ply wood that has been laminated in fiberglass and resin, in the anchor locker. The sole purpose of this is to prevent the anchor from hitting the hull or sliding down into the hull. This locker has no structural or support value on the boat. So that would in fact mean that the boat is "structurally" all composite.

WOOD IN MY ANCHOR LOCKER I WANT A REFUND KYLE!! :rotfl:

I love my 2104 and until this thread I had never given any thought what so ever to what direction my locker doors open. I will say though that I load my rods into the locker from outside the boat all the time. I clean my rods after every trip so I pull them out of the lockers when I get home because I refuse to transport them standing up.

So did the Mrs. Marie, a trawl boat that my Grandpaw worked on in the late 50's that is still working today.

Omg a boat with wood in it!

Goooh 08-12-2013 04:40 PM

composite[ kuhm-poz-it ]
adjective
1. made up of disparate or separate parts or elements; compound: a composite drawing; a composite philosophy.

In not against some wood in a boat, but it drives me crazy when boats without wood are called composite as though that, by definition, they have no wood.

A raft made of mud and grass is composite, so is a ship made of wood and nails or glue.

Carry on.
