Not sure where the hell Bururs is, but I assume you're talking about Buras. No bet, I said Lake P. Not Lake Borgne, not Lake Maurapas.

can i just go on the boat keep count and drink

PUREBAY2200 09-22-2011 12:15 PM

w..... dumass catches numbers like ur talkin bout in lake borgne..... not lake p.
75 fish in lake p is a dumass good trip day. and those will b nice 2#-4# trout....
lake borgne u can catch 150-200 on a really good day with bait.... but not the size. u may snag a few hogs... but 90% of those will b 16 inches or less.
and the drum, sheephead and redfish u catch with bait in lake p % lake birgne will drive u nuts!!!

trust me, NOBODY catches 300 trout in lake p in 1 day!!! not a group , not a guide... NEVER!!

numbers come from lake borgne
size comes from lake p

Agree 100%.

The biggest thing(besides needing a tide all day and the weather staying calm and not having others boats screw you up) is in order to catch 300 fish jigging in Lake P you have to get 900 bites. And 33% is a good catch to bite ratio on must days here.

I've caught 300 trout IN lake P in the spring actually just about every spring since I was a lil kid...I mean 300 in one day..2-3 people in the boat no live bait but no plastics either..And the spot is closer to the N shore and a bridge can't be seen from it neither can Dumasses boat....all the info I'll give

Hopedale Hustler 09-22-2011 06:19 PM

And purebay I'll take your bet W better pay come april....and whoever here thinks u need all day to catch 300 trout has obviously never been on a true trout frenzy before 125 in the box back at bsm a lil after the 9 o'clock coffee break is common in the summer time...

Breton sound is a diff story..... U right.... 60 minutes 100 - 125 trout n the box is not crazy.... I've done it and seen guides do it consistently.

PUREBAY2200 09-22-2011 07:10 PM

Illegally I'm guessin...... U sound like ironman..... I caught 300 trout in secret spot..... Illegally

This Saturday.

youmyboyblue 09-22-2011 08:10 PM

In all seriousness, if someone catches 300 trout or even 200 in one outing in lake P than I am doing something wrong about 70 times a year, Dumas is doing something wrong about about 200 times a year, Chas is doing something wrong about 175 times a year, Kreegers doing wrong and about 20 other people who fish it regularly are also doing something wrong. It is just not a fishery that produces numbers like that. Can you once in a while hook up to a well head(hustler) and wear them out for hours? Yes. But the average trip just doesn't produce hundreds of fish here. I wish it did. When I want numbers I go to Delacroix, but living 8 minutes from the lake p launch is hard to pass up for an 1 hour 20 minute drive.
It's all in fun, I will fish with anyone on this site(welcomed on my boat) whenever they want to make a trip.
