Tournament Update - Rule Change

We are going to have a captains meeting at 8:00 on Friday at Cocahoe's. For those of you that prepay by Wednesday August 10th online here at our site, you can come to the captains meeting and I will sign your papal slip and you DO NOT have to launch from Cocahoe's on Saturday or check in with me. You will however need to weigh any fish that you catch at Cocahoe's.

If you do not attend the Captains meeting on Friday you must launch out of Cocahoe's and or have me sign your PayPal slip on Saturday morning. I will arrive at Herbert's around 4:30 AM.

This rule change should help with congestion at the Marina and also will allow folks staying over in Hackberry from having to come over in the dark by boat and it will allow our Kayak fishermen to get where they need to be.

Regarding the youth division. Youth anglers will not count towards your three angler maximum. If you have a youth angler fishing with you, I will need their name and age when you check in with me or they will not be allowed to weigh fish.

Can a team be in more than one boat as long as they fish the same area like the waders?

No, each team must be in the same boat. In other words if you have budies in two boats, each boat must make up their own team.

Also I have an update to the rules below.

Lake Chuck Duck 07-27-2011 12:59 PM

But if I decide to wade, I can be within NORMAL wading distance from the boat which may be several hundred yards from my partners?

You and your waders will all be in the same boat together right? If not then no that won't fly either. You can't have a group of waders say 10 of them, join together and decide who has the three biggest fish and then those three become a team and go run to the marina.

ckinchen 07-27-2011 02:06 PM

The rules have now been updated, the word document in post one.

I have no idea what East v/s West is, I was not a member of the site at that time. This is life, life changes, people adapt to change or get run over by it. I prefer to adapt.

We could be more like our government and never admit we were wrong and not make changes for the better. No thank you, I am an adaptation kind of guy.

"East vs West" had nothing to do with adapting......trust me. :shaking: :smokin:

It was a total joke from day one.

can we weigh the live trout anytime through out the day? If not if you catch a nice fish and keep it in your hot a-- live well all day its gonna die..

jchief 07-27-2011 08:23 PM

Is it for weighing a live trout or your 3 fish limit live?

"W" 07-27-2011 08:30 PM

All you have to do is weight in one trout per person...and you can weight it after 9 am with your weight card...he counts for you days total......

We want all of the to be live but understand it will not happen.....

But what ever trout u weight is toward your days total

BayBolt23 07-27-2011 08:41 PM

My livewell has everything but i still dont you can keep live fish all day.

Dink 07-27-2011 09:03 PM

Oh sure you can. Especially with a pump recycling the water!! Those airators don't work as well. Don't use cube ice. Freeze some 20oz bottles so you don't mess up the salinity. And freeze a bunch!!

Dink 07-27-2011 09:07 PM

I've kept redfish alive running from Venice to orange beach, straight line through the gulf, this way.

So what's a live trout and what's a live trout able to be released. And who determines this? I know some people got screwed a few thousand dollars by cca at the trout shootout. Fish were still breathing but they didn't get the extra weight for live fish. Makes no sense

If its belly up and not breathing its not considered live. If it is looking ill and doesn't swim off after being revived you don't get the bonus. Weight master will determine. All rulings are final

Doesn't make any since, if it's alive it's alive it should be like major bass tournaments u get 30 sec for the fish to move it's gills. Who says a trout that swims off is in any better condition than one that still breathing belly up?
