Duffy.yyz 01-15-2015 08:07 AM

Damn that marshrunner is a sweet setup.

BassYakR 01-15-2015 08:18 AM

Thank ya man! I love it... just wish it wasnt so heavy so it would be a lil faster... i think i need a modded Merc 40

Ran one of these for years. Yes, they are very heavy hulls but I put a ton of fish in mine over those years. With my 40 merc I pushed it to 52mph but wasn't very comfortable pushing that small old hull at those speeds. Working on my 16' xpress hull now as my old marshrunner had seen its better days lol.

BassYakR 01-15-2015 10:19 AM

Yeah i like to be able to cruise around 30-35 but be capable of mid to lower 40s..... right now how its proped i can only run 30 all out... but it gets up VERY quick... which will be good for Lacassine this spring

marshrunner757 01-15-2015 11:27 AM

It'll be a great setup for the marsh

hi there..first time caller, long time listener. Here's my little redfish wrangler. She will finally get a trip out to marsh tomorrow after a month of miserable weather kept her off the water.

You ever visit Microskiff.com, that site will make you wanna throw everything out of your garage and turn it into a boat production facility. They have some very nice builds.

TidewateR 01-19-2015 09:37 AM

Thanks, it's been a great boat. It's a Bossman Karma which is a splashed Hells Bay Gladeskiff (with sponsons added). She's 18'10" and really light. The aluminum gas tank is up front so the weight is distributed nicely. The hull is rated for a 30hp engine and the 25hp yamaha pushes it to 31mph light/solo and 28mph with gear/crew, which is fast enough for me...only sucks when making really long runs. I added a CMC Tilt/Trim which acts like a fixed jack plate too by raising the motor a few inches, but also allowing the motor to trim out. Now, I can run skinnier and there is no pull on the tiller arm. The prop is a power tech SRA 3 blade 12 pitch which has some cupping.

alphaman 01-19-2015 10:19 AM

😎😎😎👉👉Bump bump bump! Lets see some more boats. Please post a picture of your new, new to you sled.

Jpharr 01-25-2015 10:35 AM

Marty, prob start of March. Feb is going to be tough bc I've got two weekends of call and we have a guy out for a week. Got a chance to run it yesterday. Was very impressed with it. Just need to put the Talon on and she's ready to go. When are you heading down?

Sweet lookin Rig Rusty! still breaking her in huh? whats she running so far?

rustyb 01-26-2015 08:48 AM

First trip on friday almost no load. Ran her from the shop after being rigged. Prop testing with only 12 gallons of fuel and got 62mph.
On saturday fully fueled and light loaded got 60. Still have to put ipilot and batteries which go up front. So all said and done we gonna fall near 58-60 as i get it all worked out. Sportsman Fab in morgan city is great guy to work with.

BassYakR 01-26-2015 09:02 AM

Man thats scooting on that boat! Congrats

marshrunner757 01-26-2015 10:08 AM

OK, 98% complete. 1650 xpress with mercury 40/60. Hydro Turf throughout. Topped out today at 49mph but will get better with weight distribution and motor height adjustments left to do.

Natural Light Kid 01-30-2015 11:48 PM

Looks good. Are those LED's on the front? If so can you give some details?

marshrunner757 01-31-2015 03:02 PM

Thanks. Yes they are led. Bought at academy.

Bdub 01-31-2015 08:54 PM

Looks good, very similar to my boat only about 20 mph faster lol

Not a beauty queen or a race boat, but gets me out in the water. 06 Clearwater 21' Baystar with a Yamaha F150. Fixing to replace the harmonic balancer on that motor before it comes apart. It's got the "whine".
