Black Bear in Walker Today
 

Man them things are starting to pop up all over ther place huh? 2 of them were seen in Delcambre a couple weeks back too.

Saw where one got hit by a car and killed on a road near Belle River this week.

"i heard a gun shot"..."it charged me and i had to put it down"

yea effin right!

when we saw this on the news earlier my wife said awww I cant believe he killed that poor bear! If that would have been me they would have heard more than one shot. I would have unloaded on that bad boy!

I personally know the officer. He was left no choice. What would you do if faced in the same situation at close range, in the dark. Many will blame him for shooting the animal. I have seen dogs that would never harm anything, turn and attack when injured.

I woulda shot it but not cuz I had to, just so I could say i shot a bear :)

LOL. shoot i'd whoop the snot outta that sucker. I'd put some yogi bear stuff on him. distract him wit a picnic basket and then catch him wit a big limb when he aint looking.

In St. Francisville where I deer hunt, they have some cool ole Democrats that we run hogs with and stuff up there. My buddy talked to them the other day and they were going check a hog trap. Said they were getting close and could see something big and black in it. When they got close, it was a black bear. They said he stood up, and threw the trap off of him, and took off toward the property we hunt up there! I have never seen one in the wild before but think i would have to put him down if i did. I bow hunt alot, and I dont know what i would do if i cam across one woth nothing but my old stick and string!

Go dig up articles where people have shot black bears in La, You'd much rather shoot a person! BIG $$$$$ FINES!!!!!!

Several years back We had a black bear sow on our property in Miss just north of Angola that had a radio collar, she had 5 cubs, it was the only confirmed births of black bears in the state of Miss plus it was the largest confirmed litter. We had biologist & DW&F running all over our place. One of the biologist held a meeting with our club & talked to us about the bears, one the guys said what if She charges & I have to shoot, the biologist never cracked a smile & I quote, "You had better have claw marks on your azz" then said you probably still won't be in the clear.:eek: I saw her & all 5 cubs, she never knew I was around. If they smell or see you they will leave, unless cornered or she feels threat to her cubs.
