huntin fool 03-23-2011 08:37 PM

sorry it was this past Sunday, not Today

2ndamendment 03-23-2011 08:41 PM

11.6 that is a nice fish for the river. Keep landing big fish like this and will soon be on the bass masters tour stop.

mikedatiger 03-23-2011 08:41 PM

that's the way it works Fool. When it's your time, it's your time! One of the biggest bass I ever caught came on a perch bait when I was a kid - my buddy took the bass rod and gave me the perch rod, and he wasn't too happy a little while later.

when we were fishing sunday I watched a woman catch a 26.5inch trout, then she sat down and drank a beer and smoked a cig. very next cast she caught a 24… gotta wait for your number.

With the time you spend on the water you'll break that before you know it.

I bet that was a heck of a show....:)

Montauk17 03-23-2011 10:05 PM

Must have been a laccasine bass that was released in the river?

Yes...you could not release the fish back in the impoundment after the dog fights, so people around the river would release them in the Calcasieu.

YellowMouth7 03-24-2011 09:17 AM

wow i would love to see a pic of that girl

powell4570 03-24-2011 10:13 AM

the fish was reported to us at the tackle box last sunday. the anglers then took the fish to cajun fast mart to have it weighed on certified scales. a biologist was called to take blood and scale samples to pinpoint the fish's origin. the ol boy who caught it was perch fishing, as mentioned. they saw the huge fish in shallow water, dropped a small jig in front of it and she bit. the fight was mere seconds, as they had the net ready from the get-go. the ol boy who caught her was so excited that he didn't think about not being able to afford to have the fish mounted and he didn't want to fillet her, so long story short, the fish was donated to the tackle box in sulphur and it has been transported to lake charles for mounting. the fish will be displayed at the tackle box in sulphur along with a plaque recognizing the angler's donation and achievment.

Bluechip 03-26-2011 08:30 PM

Excellent!!! Let us know when it's finished so we can drop by The Tackle Box, take a look and spend some money.

huntin fool 03-27-2011 04:04 PM

That in all honesty makes me sick in my stomach though.

Atleast he donated it..but I mean cmon! If your know you cant mount it, it should have been released back. My opinion.

weedeater 03-27-2011 05:10 PM

yea for crying out loud, release fish like that so i can catch them and mount them.....haha atleast he didnt just eat it

huntin fool 03-28-2011 06:18 PM

was there ever a official weight on this fish..More and more we talk about it, it gets smaller looking..Had a bud catch an 11.2 and his fish looks like it would eat this one.

gonzalesdave 03-28-2011 06:27 PM

I think it looks smaller than 10 BUT you can never tell for sure in pics

:shaking:

WRONG! you're about 1 1/2 - 2lbs off.. it was certified at 11.6lbs, the fish will b back at the tackle box in 2 weeks to 6 months.. that's what marshland taxidermy in lc said.

calm your panties down cowgirl, I said this fish LOOKS like its less than 11.
And btw, just because a taxidermy says its 11.6 doesn't quite mean its 11.6. For a few bills you can get a plaque to say anything.

Hey Holmes, last I checked I have a 4.0 gpa and going to school to become a csp, so please don't even pull the comprehension bs. You work at a tackle shop, not a college professor.

well i judged you by your merit.. you clearly read my post, but you obviously didn't comprehend it because you didn't remember reading the me saying fish was certified, when it was one of the first statements of the post. So, CLEARLY i am correct in judging your comprehension level as low.

And to furthur illustrate my point, you did judge me by saying 'you work in a tackle shop' like it takes no education. I got what you were not-so-subtly hinting at and again, clearly i am correct in that you did, in fact, judge me.

now that i spelled it out for ya, do u get get why u look the @ss?

And I'm correct by judging that you don't have the requirements to be a college professor and you just assumed I was judging you upon the fact that you work at a tackle shop and thought I was implying that you have no education. So quite frankly I don't feel like the ***.

Out of curiosity how do you know Jedi doesn't have the requirements to be a college professor? He didn't say whether he has a master's, bachelor or what. McNeese doesn't offer a degree in college professoring they have degree requirements for each position, so Jedi could very well have these requirements you speak of.

If I understand your question correctly, he told me above he graduated in business, not college professing nor said he was planning on it. He may have the potential for it, more power to him. But I was just stating he had no right to judge me on my comprehension skills.

One of the things you've said on this thread is that you were correct in judging that he didn't have the requirements to be a college professor. You made comments about the fish not weighing what it was stated to be. Jedi pointed out that in his original post he mentioned it was weighed on a certified scale. Instead of acknowledging your error you got defensive and made some critical comments. You may not have intended it come across the way it sounded, but it did sound bad on your end.
