Big Lake 6-25-11

3 Attachment(s)
Calcutta37, Cmac23 & I headed out of Cal. point at about 5:15 saturday morning in search of clean water and a good topwater bite! Well that didnt take long as we found both on the south end of the lake. Topwater bite was amazing blow up after blow up catch after catch! Nice solid fish hit the deck, pulling hooks out of super spooks:pissed: Pretty much caught all of our fish in one spot then we made a move to see if we could catch something to weigh in at the Fishing for Memories Tourney in ICY. Caught this 4.74 hoping it stays in 2nd place for the tourney weigh in today!:)
Great day on the water drinking cold beers, catching nice fish with good friends!

Damn man. Yall still had a great trip yesterday. Went to put my boat in the water Fri evening and the starter is shot. Had to walk in and wade up north sat morning. 1 trout and 1 flounder Gave up at 9am. Just paid $85 to have a new one next day aired.

Great job Hammer! Gotta love that topwater bite and pickin up 150 smackers in the process is pretty sweet too! congrats man!

trophytroutman 06-26-2011 09:41 PM

Great catch fellas.

EPaul 06-26-2011 10:39 PM

Yeah, I wasn't happy with that 6lber that was weighed in as the scales closed either. It bumped my 1st to 2nd and my 3rd off the board. I knew 5 lbs wasnt big enough to win it, but I was looking good until the last minute! Seeing Spots and I fished BL from Thursday through Saturday for this tourney.

BayBolt23 06-27-2011 01:02 AM

Hey Paul you had the board covered up till a friend weighed my fish for me! First second & third! I heard the 6 was caught out of a kayak

EPaul 06-27-2011 08:01 AM

I heard the kayak report too. If I had known that it was you on the leader board, I would have tracked you down and introduced myself.

BayBolt23 06-27-2011 12:14 PM

Best inshore boat was that guy that brought in the 6 lb speck, he also had a 52 lb and 41 lb drum, and 2 flounders that took 1 st and 3rd.

RAGINJROB 06-27-2011 01:01 PM

Thanks. No way he carried those drum around in his kayak though.

got mine done in abbeville by an old man who works out of his garage

Gerald 06-27-2011 06:08 PM

I ordered new brushes a few years ago and fixed starter myself.

It is not hard to do. Takes a couple of hours to take the starter motor off the engine, take starter motor apart, install new brushes and reinstall.

Just fixed it. Found a bolt missing that held starter in place. Went to S&L bolt and spent $.50 for one new stainless bolt and it works fine. New starter coming in today. They said they would take it back and issue me a refund. Gonna hit the lake on Thursday!!
