Gun looks practically new. Beats the hell outa 400 bucks for a new one. If you like them I guess.

Duck Butter 07-20-2011 12:20 PM

not a big fan, they look cheap and they make a lot of noise rattling and all that. 870 fan here, but to each his own

meaux fishing 07-20-2011 12:23 PM

One of my buddys has one and he loves it

They look funny but hear they are very nice. Benelli just came out with the 3.5" Vinci. Think I might scoop one up when Shooters runs their annual 1 year interest free sale. I always buy something. :) I already got the SBE II and M1. I'm also considering the Browning Maxis.

I love mine. You are correct they look funny, but I'll shoot 3.5's all day out of it

Lake Chuck Duck 07-20-2011 12:43 PM

My next purchase will be a SBEII or a extrema 2. hear the SBEII are way lighter

SBEII is a light gun. I shoot a Beretta....not the extrema 2, but the SBEII is much light than my gun. Both are great guns though.

Love my SBE II. Very light. Both good guns.

meaux fishing 07-20-2011 01:08 PM

the best gun is the one that fits you best...What fit me best was a SBE II. Go to your local gun shop and shoulder a few and see which one you like the most

wtretrievers 07-20-2011 01:17 PM

Been mentioned before.....BBB you can't go wrong, Benelli, Beretta or Browning, Meaux you're right go with what fits!!!! Have seen to many with the high dollar guns that don't fit & couldn't hit a bull in the azz at 10 steps!

I was going for big bay boats.. Or big boob ........ But Benelli, Beratta and browning work good too.

all star rod 07-20-2011 01:27 PM

That Nova on LSM is the old version. A few years ago Benelli came out with the Super Nova Pump. Matter of fact I have one as my back up gun. Also, the pump handle does not rattle near on the Super as much as the the original Nova.

I'll have to disagree wit ya on this one. I have one and use it only for turkeys. It's a big heavy rattle trap. Only reason I got it is cuz I won it in a skeet shoot. Any other time I'm shootin my 870 wingmaster. Das a sweet shootin pump.

I got a wing master too. To pretty of a gun to bring in the marsh that we hunt.

Your right on the rattling part though.. My wingmaster kicks my a$$ with 3 1/2's... super nova is smooth smooth

joshdomingue 07-20-2011 02:34 PM

I have the super nova and it doesn't rattle and I treat it like shat!!

cmdrost 07-20-2011 02:44 PM

have both the nova and the 870. Like the nova better.

Someone mentioned the Maxus earlier. I highly recommend that gun! Its bad arse!

Don't bring no 870 in the marsh it will be rusted piece of junk next day. I can hold my self up with my nova in the marsh then leave it in the back of my truck for a week and pick it up and it goes boom boom boom

Why not go to geudan and pick one up at g and h when they have their no tax sale. Price is probably way lower than shooters to begin with and you'll save a few hundred bucks on tax.

I like to do the one year no interest. Cost me $150/month for a year.

That is the 3" Vinci in that comparison. They just came out with the 3.5" Super Vinci. They changed up a few things on it. I held it and a Maxus today at Lafayette Shooters. I like them both alot. But think I'm leaning toward the Super Vinci. For one, I rather Max 4 and browning only has duck blind for duck hunting. And the paint job on the benelli holds up a little better. Have seen alot of browning paint jobs mess up from mosquito spray, etc.

I can tell you my maxus paint has chipped already in a couple of spots.

Have to disagree..... Snagged my uncles a 870 out of a canal in Venice, la that went overboard the day before.... Sat outside for the rest of the day without cleaning, and took it out duck hunting the next morning.... No rust or hangups. I've used mine for a push pole before also.... Still shoots fine.... I'm very religious about cleaning my guns though

Just food for thought....all good guns, while working up North in Michagan I got into a gun club, we shot a case of shells a week(every week). Not kidding.....everyone one shot Berettas, they've tried others but said the Berettas were what lasted & held up. These guys were serious shooters & was nothing to shoot several thousand rounds a month

Just wrap it in camoclad....did mine last year, turned out pretty good.

SULPHITE 07-20-2011 09:53 PM

i would have the xtrema2 but I thought it was too bulky...maybe thats why I do love shooting my maxus......when it shoots lol.

Hopedale Hustler 07-20-2011 10:01 PM

I don't recommend the Vinci cause of the trigger guard it kills your fingers..sbe II all the way...or of course the ole trusty 870 supermag

LPfishnTIM 07-20-2011 10:03 PM

get an over under! you'll never think about a pump again!

Where I hunt in Mexico, that is all they have for you to shoot. Beretta 391s. They prob have 75-100 of them. Very dependable gun. But like Sulphite said, I hate the feel of the Extremas.

That is what they changed on the Super Vinci is the trigger guard. They said it was pinching their middle finger but the made it a little smaller so your hand fits better. But i did feel like i had to kind of over stretch my trigger finger to get a good grip on trigger. I have the SBE II already and love it. Just wanting to expand my gun collection. I'm gonna try and keep whatever new gun I get out the marsh but prob won't be able to contain myself.

Good to hear ima have to check em out then..

Captain Mike P. 07-21-2011 01:33 AM

I've got the same gun. $350.00 brand new and I agree, the best pump i have ever used.

Ducedux 07-21-2011 06:51 AM

My experience with the novas are that they kick like mules. If you are only going to shoot a case or so a year that may not be bad. If you hunt every day and shoot 10 cases or more this may not be the best answer. As fas as the SBEII, after about 5 years of hard shooting the reciever starts wearing and the gun hangs. Costs way to much for only about 5 seasons.
