Swamp People Auditions in Deridder
 

I'm suprised somebody hasn't posted this up yet, but I heard that this Saturday(7/30) in Deridder there will be auditions for the show Swamp People. It's from 9 to 5 at Cecil's resturant...Must have 50 or more gator tags to considered for the show. Has anyone else heard about this??

I saw where they are looking for people of character only found in LA, I know they got some inbred people up that way but didn't know they had swamp people....

I know a old man from lake Arthur been doing all his life but he wouldn't put on the show they do.he would pull up pull string shot put in boat then to next line.quicker he tags less days of work

Yeah, I find it odd that they are making gator hunters drive all the way to Deridder to interview. You would think they would do it in Lafayette or Lake Charles. I wouldn't think there is a whole lot of tag holders up in the piney woods?

Is there even any gators in Deridder? And Im not talking the women at the bar..:shaking:

There are a lot of gator hunters in central and northern Louisiana. It's not just along I-10 and south like most people think.

Me and weedwacker seen some heck of a gators in Toledo this spring.

me and merc seen 2 big boys at Toledo Bend but I didn't realize they hunted them further north to any extant

perfect timing, one was well over 13'

We used to catch em in lake d'arbone , cross Lake & swamps off the red river..... Not many over 6 ft. But fun!!!

Watch your mouth boy..... We got gators here. Seen one last year bigger than the 12' canoe I was in. Anacoco creek

I heard about that a while back. I've been trying to convince my cousin to try out with his brother-in-law. His brother-in-law hunts, fishes, and traps for a living. He said he doesnt mess the gators though. Not sure why. I know he slapped the crap outta Jr. one day (Jr. and Willie). He said he caught him running some of his traps or something like that. One thing led to another and he laid into him. lol. I laughed my arse off when I heard that.

Grew up there man not many inbreds and not too many gators either. There can't be many at all with 50 tags. Maybe a few on the Sabine river and Toledo. Weird location, but no telling what the history channel will bring out the wood works.

But yall do have a fair share of meth making sons of guns ;)

I know they got some strange ones once you get up NW of Deridder up in the woods, INLAWS from there....haha and I have family from Anacoco and I dont think a few have seen the light of day in along time

I think everyone has good number of them running around. Hell, when I worked at the Isle of Capri we had a guy make one in one of the rooms.

Watch it man. My Momma was from the Deridder, Merryville area. Don't mean we are not from Louisiana and don't have Louisiana in our blood.

it was a joke towards the directors of swamp people. Why would they hold auditions in Deridder... Easy killa.. Easy.

I talked with Mike and T-Mike from the Hammond area before this season and they said that they did not know if they would show them because they wanted them to make the gators fight before shooting them, Mike said he was not about that and i did not see them on this season either.

Yeah, country boy, I see their pain. Too much stupid stuff to put up with. I actually haven't even watched the show much this year. Wish em all loads of money from the show but, it kinda lost it's luster with me.

I know there's good people in DeRidder and Merryville cause that's where I'm from.

Come on yall we all just j/k around, alot of my family is from that area. I do think its crazy they doin casting up that way for swamp people I wish they would do somthin on the people from this area as we have alot of hard workin families that live off the land in many other ways from fishing, logging, hunting, or what ever else you may do.

They all in the Anacoco area and my father-inlaw is from Burr Ferry area

My moms family is from the Burr Ferry and Cotton Wood area.
