Health Problems
 

I just want to start by saying I'm kinda of new to this site and I like it so far. My son who is 14 years old has been battling a blood disease sine he was very young and takes medication for it on a month to month time period in turn the medication causes him not to be able to gain weight and not to be the size he should be for 14. Yesterday the bomb shell was dropped he was having chest pains and when he was taken into the hospital it was discovered he has a heart condition that he will now have to battle. The only reason for me getting into inshore fishing was for him and I want to thank the two people that have helped me learn this sport and only one person from this site. The others who I bugged and asked about fishing all the time I'm sorry for bugging you'll it was all for my son to put him on fish. He doesn't like trout fishing that much has always been into the red fishing so to the one person that helped and knew I thanks you and there was one other who took him on a trip and I thank you and no he wasn't from this site. Attached is a picture of him on his last trip we made together and one of him just enjoying being on the water because he just loved to go out and ride.

This place is like a family to me. The guys here don't feel bugged by questions, even when they come across as so. As for your son, I'm saddened to hear that such a young man has to battle so many issues. May the Good Lord bless him and provide healing and comfort to all in this struggle. Tell him to stay strong and keep the Faith.

Very sorry to here about this, If he ever needs blood or platelets and your in a bind, I'm what they call a baby donor O neg rh neg, very rare but can give to anyone they mostly use it on neonatal and cancer patients. Hearts and prayors to you.

Okay here is an update got home from the doctor and now we or in the hospital overnight. Got home and he took a nap and when he got up he was in more pain then in the past two days enough to make him cry which he never does. Back to the hospital for more sticks and pushes which lead to him being admitted.

Since recently becoming a father, I know what it means to feel true, unconditional love for another....kinda like the ole George Straight song, Love w/o End, Amen....sing this to my little man when i'm putting him to bed. To all the guys that wanted to come by and say hi I can't thank you enough for wanting to do that but he really needs his rest right now. I was going to do an update post later tonight but will do it now. The doctor said it hasn't gotten any worse and has gotten a little better. He has to stay another night for the pain and for the oxygen treatment he is receiving. I will say this I asked what he wanted when he got out and of course food was on the list and I said beside that what and he said a t-shirt with the salty Cajun logo like at The Tackle Box.

Well I can take care of that request, what size does he wear? I have a few youth shirts still in inventory. PM me his size and your addy and I will get it out Monday before i go to Alaska. This one is on me.

Bro, that shirt is his! I'll deliver it to you a.s.a.p.!! He can always use an extra SC shirt and sticker and towel! ;) Anything I can do, holler at me.

Glad to hear he is a little better, we continue to keep him and your family in our prayers.

Glad to hear your son is getting better.. As a father with a child that also had complications at birth and now lives as a diabetic, I know seeing your child in pain or with health issues can be the hardest moments of your life. Stay strong, keep faith, and God will answer your prayers. He sure did for me!!! I am also fairly new to this site, but have been fishing the Dularge and Cocodrie area my whole life. Contact me if you guys ever want to get on some RED's, with winter coming up the marsh will be swamped with red fish.

Praying that God heals your son and always watches over him. The guys on here are amazing and you will be overwhelmed at their generosity and kindness. I am the mom of a 14 year old...praying that God also gives you comfort and strength when you need it.

London was released from the hospital. He still has about a two to three recovery time peroid,but was doing good enough to come home. Thanks for all the support and prayers. Hope I can repay the favor one day. To the people that sent gifts I thank you and my family thanks you.
