If you are near ville platte they make them by the traileroad. My crabbing buddy drive from LC to there since he said they are the best.

I got mine from ville platte. They were $25 each. I talked to Andrea, and she said that she has a lot of people that come from everywhere to get her traps.

You can get them at Harvest Seafood in Erath. I want to say they are around the same price as Academy.

Please take all the traps that are on the Refuge property. I don't know why these are allowed to stay there. Refuge property starts at the bank of Big Lake. There are probably 30+ traps there for the taking....IMO.

One day....... I am going to clear out a lane so that boats can get to the weir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merci, didn't know Mr Cary made anything other than crawfish traps. I've always wanted a few and have a great boat for them now. WHat would you say is the shortest amount of time you could let them soak and it be worth your time with about 4-6 traps?

Overnight with a rising tide is best

I don't think they make them there. I know they are hand made, and she said that she has some people come from New Iberia to get their traps because, they store the traps outside. Something about the powder in the wire. I bought 5 just before labor day, supposed to go to the Grand Isle but, Lee said no.

Cutty713 09-15-2011 11:19 AM

This is great, be on the look out for a report from my first try in the next few months
