Costa's
which ones are the best all around glasses?
I have 3 diff pair and like em all.
$12 Berkley from Wal-Mart. Kids can breakem and I won't cry, I've got 4 kids who are rough on all my equipment. lol
Try not to get one with alot of rubber around the frame and lens. I have two pairs of blackfin 580's and the rubber is coming off of both of em. Im bout to try out some of the flying fisherman glasses, cost about 70 bucks. Tired of spending money on something that dont last.
i have 4 pair. I have a white pair of velas (i broke), tortoise velas with black 400 lenses (crappy while on the water), Brine tortoise with 580 green mirror (really like, but their my gf's) and a pair of Maya black frame with 400 black lenses (my everyday pair)
I was not to satisfied with the Flying Fisherman, just throwing that out there, went back to my Costa Corbinas quick

I have 4 pairs , Two pair Fathoms ( green mirror ,blue mirror),Triple Tail ( black 580), Maya ( green mirror) My favorite is the Maya for fishing , I wear the Triple Tail when I hunt. The green mirror I think is the best on the water ,at least for me . |
off topic but what lens color do you guys use for hunting???

i have costa tripletails blu mirror/grey glass 400's and trptail vermilion lens, no mirror 580's for sight fishing. the 580's are a much better lens than the 400, no doubt.

I've been thinking about buying a lair of costas. Are the 580's really worth the $$$$$???
My personal oppinion is yes. I truly do like and enjoy my glasses. However, these are my first pair of "pricy" glasses so i have no others to compare it to. I have worn someones 400's on the water and my 580's are noticibly better on the water but wearing them everyday there is not much of a difference between 400s and 580s in your yard or driving.

They say sunscreen is what causes this. |
I have two pairs of the flying fishermen, I have an amber lens and a amber/ green mirror, the green mirror/ amber lens sucks in the a.m. and have a pink tent instead of a real amber. I've wore WILEY X glasses in amber and they have a much better lens.
Old brine is awesome!! New brine sucks!! Arms flare way out, touchs ears

Not as well known as costas, but Smith Optics makes better lenses than costas. I have both, and don't use the costas any more..Very good customer support.
I had a pair of the Osprey with the 400 lenses and broke them while in Key West. I bought a pair of Brine with the 580 blue/green lenses within 10 minutes. The Brine or nice but I wish they still made the Osprey cause those things were awesome on the water.
I like the Costa Brine series with amber lens. Worth every penny.
going to cost me $49 to get a new pair of frames.
Ive got two pairs of Fathoms blue with 580g,one for work and one for dress.I also have a pair of hammerheads blue with regular glass.I am extremely rough on my glasses and Costa ALWAYS fixes them! I even stepped on a pair I set down in a boat and they fixed them for cost of shipping. They actually just sent a new pair.If you buy Costas it will be the last pair you ever have to buy unless you loose them
I have a pair of fisch blue 580's...thinking about selling them and getting a different frame style. I love them, but want a different frame.
I have the Blackfins, with the amber lens. Work great in the shallows of them marsh for site fishing and bowfishing during the day. Had some truoble with the rubber piece coming off but a little super glue goes a long way. Takes to long to send them back.
I have a set of Fathom's with the 'cheap' lenses that I wear when weed-eating & hunting and I have a pair of Man O' War's with the blue 580's and I wear these every day. I have had to send my Fathom's in once (rubber coming off) and Man O' War's 3 times (ring around the lenses, smashed lenses & broken arm). The Fathom's I only got charged shipping, as well as the ring around the lenses on the Man O' War's, smashed lenses was I believe $60 for new lenses and the broken arm was $20 and they replaced the entire frame instead of putting a new arm!

I have the Brines, as Pookie said, and I love them.
But Jordan has a big head... |
Hunting the vermillion lenses are the best all around. I don't want a mirrored lense even in the blind. Ducks have too much in their favor already without holding up a mirror telling em where the blind is.
