i've watched my dad suffer with that, and it seems pretty painful. Hope you get to feeling better man.

Got a buddy on SMF that had Gout so bad he could not walk. Doc tried him on some new med and he hasn't had a flare up since. I'll try to get the name of the Med and you can check it w/ your doc.

i have the beginning stages of gout, it will only bother me if i drink too many days in a row..i only have raised levels of uric acid nothing extreme...if you like cherrys give them a try, actually the cherry juice helps some people with flare ups

y buddy started with a massive doseage of prednisone 10.5 mg in the am and 10 mg at night to get rid of the swelling and then his doc put him on the allopurinol along w/ another drug that is not available in the USA. colchacine is available in Canada and they will except your docs perscription via internet and ship it to you.
Gout and alcohol do not mix ! he said he quit alcohol and after the gout was under control he had a few beers, Had a week long attack from it .
i have his Ph. number if you want to find out more info.

Hmmmmmmm I am going by what he told me???
Glad to know.
I know he did mention that he could get Colcrys here but that it was VERY expensive.
Maybe he is getting a generic form ? I'll call him tonight and get clarification. I just looked at the side affects of colchicine and if you are young and wanting to have a family .You may want to think real hard before taking this drug.
One of the side effects is total and non reversible Sterility.
