I ordered some lipless cranks and tried my hand at paintin' a couple. These things are a total PITA to paint...much worse than a lipped bait. Thinkin' about adding 'em to the line, but, ain't sure.

Bout how long does it take you to paint one of those salty?

Gerald 02-16-2012 01:58 AM

Probably if you paid him by the hour..... you would not able to afford his baits.

Am I close Salty?

Jared, from start to finish it takes about an hour to an hour and a half depending on the pattern. That is if there are no problems...like droppin' it. :pissed:

Mr. Gerald, you're probably looking at $7-9 a pop for these particular baits....again, depending on the color pattern. I just try to pay for my materials.....time don't mean nothing to a turtle. :smokin: ;)

Nice looking baits.

Paint me some red ones. Red is killer on Toledo and Rayburn this time of year.

latravcha 02-16-2012 11:22 AM

Those things look great. I wish I had the time and patients to do something like that.

sears 02-16-2012 11:34 AM

Your selling yourself short on the price, that's amazing work

Airless. ;)

Yep, if you wanna paint 'em solid with no detail...rattle cans are the way to go. I spray all my blanks with Rustoleum flat black unless I'm using a light colored pattern....then, I spray 'em white.

Salty, you have a gift my friend. Truly beautiful work. I would be more inclined to put your baits in a shadow box as opposed to fishing em cause they look too darn good!!

Ready for clear coating. Got 10 more on the lure turner.

Salty 02-26-2012 01:24 AM

I am in the process of cleaning up my FaceBook page so I can sell some lures. If you get deleted from my "Friend's List" just send another request. I'm not really into the typical FaceBook BS (in fact, I haven't posted there in over a year), so, my main focus is to showcase the baits. I'll let ya know when it's done.
