pets in landscaping
i have a lab and he has always dug a little but me and my wife have just done some landscaping.....that being said he has dug 2 holes already and im not there to whip him when i see him doing it. anyone got any tricks to keep him out the flower beds beside tieing him up or shooting him in the head. i have tried to put red pepper out that don't help any

Put up an electric fence they'll touch it once after that you can turn it off. I have used this on my lab when I had him and my current dog a boxer. You can put his food behind just the wire and he will not go near it.

Find someone with an e collar and bait that dog into getting on,around,or near the flower bed. When he/she does, light their a$$ up with the collar. You need to make them speak to Jesus(red button). Dog physiology is place sensitive ie; a bad thing happened right there so better stay away. Dogs love cow/horse $hit but when it bites them back they tend to leave it alone. Lemme know if you want to hire the chuck Norris of dog training to fix ur problem.

i have a collar i just haven't spent the time at home to get him around it........he is smarter than he looks he knows not to get in there while we are home

What's a good shock collar brand? I need 2 of em
Do you leave the shock collar on after they stop messin with the landscaping?? Can they wear the normal collar and the shock collar together ?? |
Chris, i have a tri-tronics (thanks Raymond). I leave mine on Drake all the time along with this max-4 hd collar which has his name tag and rabies tag.

Put your dog's poop in the holes he has dug and he will not dig there again.

Thanks:)

I tried sprays, pepper and anything else you can think of to put down and all my dogs did was lick it, eat it or drink it so I resorted to buying and electric fence and runnin a strand about 10" off the ground and that put a stop to my dog getting in and in the long run I spent more money on crap that didn't work then I spent buying an electric fence.

don't think this will work beds are to far spread apart |
Buy an electronic fence and wire only the beds. I do it every day. End of story. Not many sprays or pepper will work. Been doing this for 20 years. Remote trainer will work but you have to catch em doing it.

Don't know about flower beds but the above choices do work on a certain dog that desires to come into my garage and sh*t on the door mat. |
Didnt realize you had a wireless fence. I was talking about an electronic fence not a cattle type. And yes you are correct, the wireless fence cannot b configured like a wired one. It would require a separate system and a second collar. The wireless is not compatible with anything else. Still a cheap wired one may b your cheapest option. With summer coming it will get worst as he will dig in the beds (cuz they are easy to dig in) and cool and moist. If you need any more info, or if I can help let me know.
