Topwater????

I have never been real big in the topwater action and would like to get more involved.

If yall could choose just 1 TW bait to throw this weekend what bait/color would you choose? Any particular reason or just personal preference?

Top Dawg 05-18-2012 08:17 AM

White skitterwalk x100 always sem to get more blow ups on this bait than any. Have caught on lots of colors. Chartreuse black wit chartreuse head. But white is my fav. And I like the action of the skitterwalk. Also had good luck with the white one knocker.
They done knocked the eyes off my one knocker.

I have become a big fan of the Spook one knocker also....been using it for over a year..

During the summer you can not beat a white skitterwalk

Nice topwater....

bgizzle 05-18-2012 12:43 PM

100% my altime my favorite and that's the only top water I throw may-July...
BONE COLORED SKITTERWALK... Same as white I guess

bgizzle 05-18-2012 12:45 PM

Mines starting to do the same but I think it's more from the trebles rubbing in the wind than the fish because it's an even pattern and fish inhale it and not really bite the arse end

If you are new to throwing tops I would recommend getting a bone or clown spook jr. They are very easy to walk.

Tony clip and Duce rod. Just swirl on new lure never change rods

Salty 05-31-2012 11:41 AM

A correctly tied loop knot is always better than any type of line tie.

I agree but Tony and Norton Clips just make it so easy

honkypig 06-01-2012 02:41 PM

what size clips do you usually use?

SGib 06-01-2012 03:09 PM

Tony clips only come in one size I think.. Swivel is super small buy very strong.

honkypig 06-01-2012 04:25 PM

i just got some norton clips one is a size #14 which is just the clip and a size #20 whick is smaller with a swivel

Top Dawg 06-01-2012 04:36 PM
