VB

Plan on making an evening trip, hoping there's enough room to fish! I'll give y'all a report in the morning.

speck-chaser 09-26-2012 12:38 PM

lol, the fisherman are gonna soon be thicker than the fish, and the idiots, thicker than that.

yigodiver 09-26-2012 01:49 PM

I so enjoyed the great fishing this summer in VB, however let me tell ya, there were plenty upsetting encounters out there even then. Everytime I had an encounter, I reflected to the Fall months in VB. I want to go bad so will head out Friday and let the fun begin. Maybe the prediction of rain will keep the boat numbers down.

I grew up in Lydia, seems every year it gets worse. I know everyone wants to catch fish but the lack of respect. I see guys with there kids with no respect, those youngen are what they're taught.

whunter29 09-26-2012 05:04 PM

I was ankored out one day just outside the pass and I had a husband wife and son come right on top of me and drop their trolling motor. If he wouldn't have had his kid with him I would've told him to meet me on the bank.

fishingtransplant 09-26-2012 08:35 PM

Yep, it has been known to get pretty nasty. Some just either don't give a sh&^ or don't understand fishing. Probably the 1st.
Plan on taking the honey out tomorrow as its been a long time. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

yigodiver 09-26-2012 09:06 PM

Try Mud Point, Trash Pile the satelite show the best water around Blue point... Things may change, but I will be out there Friday afternoon.

We scratched on trout in trash pile and mud point so ran to east side of weeks bay and threw plastics under schools of pogey, picked up one nice red and a jack caravelle. That's my buddy after he jerked on a gaftop and fell overboard. Funny after realizing he was ok. Attachment 40805

Nice catch.

It would be nice if someone with the talent, materials and the time could make a sign for the landing with the "rules" of courtesy for those ignorant ones who just don't know.

it is the boat hwy, I fish those camps and piers a lot, and no one slows down, or goes out into the infinate room that they have out in the bay. And what's priceless is the look on their faces, either it's a stony stare straight ahead, knowing what ***holes they're being, or looking at you like you are doing something wrong by fishing there.

they are good places though, even with the traffic, my favorite when I get there real early for a quick stop under the lights on some of em.

They are thinking ,"Why is that guy fishing in the middle of the boat highway?"

Got to enjoy a mid-week trout bite a couple weeks ago at the trash-pile, that is until the big green gravois spoiled it. Was making my way from the avery and when we got to the trash pile there were a few birds sitting on the water. I dropped the trolling motor and my girlfriend and I started casting to the sitting birds. We picked up a few, and then the birds started picking. THere was only one other boat at the time and the two of us worked the birds for about an hour without any harrassment. Then comes the green gravois, whom I could tell was trying to be courteous by shutting down away from the birds. Well he mis-calculated his drift and missed the 'hot area.' Guess he could not stand watching us sling trout because he cranked up his engine and comes flying into the school. At the time he cranked his engine there was a separate set of birds working, but he was so locked in to watching us catch fish he didnt see them. I figured why fight working a school with a boat that doesnt have a trolling motor so we left. Oh well, enjoyed it while it lasted, because we all know that will soon be standard douchery for the rest of the fall.

WorldWideSportsman87 09-29-2012 12:35 AM

It's about that time I won't be able to fish v bay on weekends

jpeff31787 09-29-2012 07:49 AM

We went yesterday.. The boats acted horribly!!! Worst I've seen in a while! If you caught a fish you were in trouble.

No doubt about Tom being the best!! T Coon couldn't bait Toms hook. My dad and Tom were great friends and fished together often. Last time I talked to Tom was at the hospital when he came to see my dad a couple of days before he passed.

Tom and his partner Towpot (sp) had this great way of slinging trout in the boat so no one could see what they were up to! When I first started fishing the bay it was Tom who would give a little advice to the few who stuck it out just in the bay. He would never give the where but would give hints to make you think of the why and the how; said this would make you a better fisherman then you could find the where. I always felt real good fishing an area when I would see Mr. Tom pull up in that ol' wooden LAFCO.

Yep, Topot Morrow from Crowley. We were all good friends "back in the day".

You gonna have to let that wind move out the west to a more NE to East wind for things to clear up. North wind will push the water out the bay quickly. The returning high tide is usually muddy for the next day. As soon as the wind lays give it a a day or two.

WorldWideSportsman87 10-01-2012 08:26 PM

Yeah fished this afternoon. Water was so muddy everywhere I stopped but I didn't have anything better to do. I love being out in the bay on a weekday.

WorldWideSportsman87 10-07-2012 12:22 AM

Fished the bay Friday and only caught 3 white trout but I did catch a nice size jack cravelle fishing the bank between blue point and shark bayou. I didn't know what the hell it was when I hooked up to it. I have pics but I haven't uploaded them to my computer yet.
