Ammo...where its at

Figure we could have a thread with locations and what ammo they have and when so if yall are in the area yall can buy some.

Even though its limit 1 box per person, academy in lake Charles has .40 100ct, .22lr, 7.62x39, .223, and .45 long colt ammo as of 11am 2/13/13

inchspinner 02-13-2013 01:03 PM

Last stand weaponry in moss bluff had some 7.62x39 monday limit to 5box...

Looking for 9mm target load bulk

SHORT SHANK 02-13-2013 02:35 PM

just stopped in at Walmart in Breaux Bridge pretty slim pickens but I did see a
total of 2 boxes of remington .223 I don't have an AR so they are still there.
There is still a brick of 22LR as well.

Finding at WM is very difficult. Have you noticed if they had the 124 gr?

"W" 02-13-2013 05:06 PM

Why is there a shortage of ammo???? I mean never was Ammo a topic of getting ban??? Can ammo companies not keep up with supply and demand ???

Just plan stupid that you can not find 22 bullets at will

Thats exactly it, they can not produce it fast enough. People are going full out ruhtard out there for some reason. Not one new law has been put on the books, a few executive orders but that list just enforces rules that are already on the books. You can still buy Ar-15s over the counter at Wal Mart when they receive them. If the apocalypse hits tomorrow I don't want to be armed with a .22 anyways but hey:rotfl:

ironworker 02-13-2013 05:35 PM

Ready for Civil war when Obama pushes us to the limit..............:smokin:

LPfishnTIM 02-13-2013 06:35 PM

I don't think obama will ever be able to take our guns away, I don't think the army would turn on us, but NATO would!

Because people were going into a store and, cleaning the shelves. Next thing you know, they're on Gunbroker.com selling at 10X face value. With one box per, it's not worth it to mess with now.

I have a Gunbroker acct and, over the last two weeks, both ammo and AR prices have cooled off substantially. Magazines, on the other hand, are a different story though. I saw 2 Ruger, 25 round, 10/22 mags on there yesterday and, the bids were already up to $110!

jdm4x43732 02-13-2013 06:48 PM

So sammich I know where you can get a good deal on a set of draggons!!!

all star rod 02-13-2013 06:49 PM

I have 3K of 22 rounds....need another 3K....:p

Before Obamma got elected, you could find .22 bullets at any gas station between Lake Charles and Cameron.
Not no mo.

speck-chaser 02-13-2013 11:49 PM

Not really relying on defending myself with my .22's,but is sure is nice to practice with, wile saving your bigger caliber ammo. Fundamentals are still the same while practicing. But, worse comes to worse, them lil .22's are deadly accurate, and if you had to, you could seriously mess someone up with them. Ive seen some big animals go down on the spot with one bullet between the eyes.

Ray 02-14-2013 11:09 AM

I plink at small game and snakes with .22's.
It's just plain fun when you are bored.

evidrine 02-14-2013 01:16 PM

I think some foresee a possible tax increase on ammuniton in the future. They buy up what they can while the price is right. Empty shelves are whats makeing everyone else buy.

Creole Fisherman 02-14-2013 02:52 PM

any new updates on locations?

Shallow Runner 02-14-2013 05:03 PM

2 things I'm absolutely sure of. When the day comes I HAVE to defend myself with a gun. 1. I will never need another bullet. 2. There will be plenty laying around. Leave the high price ammo to the preppers. JMO.

I'll be in Montana or the swamp, come and get me. The signs of a firefight that would require me to defend my house and such to that extent will be far enough in advance that me and my family will be long gone.

If it gets that bad, mad max type stuff, the possessions in our home will be last on my mind. Homesteading on the plains or getting off the grid in the swamp will be ideal for sustaining my family long term. Instead of spending all that money on ammo, buy a piece of property up in the middle of nothing land .... Or is THAT crazy?

I'm actually looking forward to it.

Give it a think.

inchspinner 02-14-2013 07:30 PM

Dont buy it use somebody elses sheet. Keep your change and move around;)

fishfighter 02-15-2013 08:07 AM

dave's

dave's in lafayette has some decent ammo on the shelf, i didn't look for any 223 cause i have a 6.8, so i apoligize for that, but they don't have any bulk boxes of .22, he has a stack of cci 17gra jhp .17hmr, and a few boxes of .22 but i think mostly they are shot shells, he has some 9mm some 10mm some 38 some 40 and some 45acp, not sure on the prices cause i didn't need any of those

and i was able to get a 30round mag for my 6.8 so suck it obummer:pissed:
should have bought both of them but at $52 each i couldn't do it

SULPHITE 02-15-2013 10:09 AM

academy in LC had some .223 and 7.62 x 39...not much and 1 box per caliber per customer...not worth my time.

Smalls 02-15-2013 11:18 AM

There are ways to getting more than one box at a time at academy......

fishfighter 02-15-2013 11:24 AM

sure

OhSoEasy 02-22-2013 10:42 AM

This morning academy in Lafayette had 223 556 40 and 22. The 22lr was only in the small pack. Do yall know if anyone has 22lr bricks? I need to pick up a few for me and my father in law.

"W" 02-22-2013 11:17 AM

Hi Guys..I brought all my duck and goose loads this yr. on the internet from Ammo to GO.. Out of Brennen Texas..

Great prices.. They sell way more Ammo than Shotgun shells..

Just FYI if anyone want's to check them out..

ironworker 02-22-2013 05:22 PM

:rasberry: just got my hands on 10 boxes (50) count 300.00

Ducktrickster 02-22-2013 05:57 PM

Its a sad day when a man can't find a box of 9 luger to pop in the back yard. I must say that you guys hording are nuts.

all star rod 02-22-2013 06:23 PM

Just picked up 2 more boxes of 9mm at heberts guns in prairieville...
Btw they have a 2 box per person limit.

OhSoEasy 02-22-2013 07:01 PM

Go look on that Cajun swap shop. There's so many ar's xd's and tons of ammo. I couldn't justify buying in bulk just to try to sell locally at a markup.

SULPHITE 02-22-2013 07:40 PM

It's a lot of scalpers....hope they lose their azz when nothing happens

Super Spook 03-09-2013 04:08 PM

Anyone seen any .40 S&W plinking ammo anywhere for a decent price? I got a new Sig and can't even shoot it.

mcjaredsandwich 03-09-2013 04:37 PM

Academy in Lake Charles usually has .40 S&W Winchester 100rd value pack. $36.99 if I recall. I have bought 3 and I don't own a .40 yet. Borrowed a friends XDM and put a 100rnds through it. All I can say is I want one bad!!

That is why most local gun shops are putting a limit on ammo at two boxes per type especially 9mm and 40cal rounds. However, the local place by my house Hebert Guns will let you get 5 boxes of 223...

I have stocked up.....have 800 9mm and 600 40cal rounds.....extra Mags are hard to find but I found 1 -15 round for my 9 and 1 -14 round for my 40 on line...cost 40 bucks for each..

Ducktrickster 03-09-2013 06:44 PM

Purchased one in 9mm a month ago. Still haven't found rounds for it yet.

Dink 03-09-2013 06:50 PM

Sucks....Ive got ammo, but dont wanna go shoot cause dont know when I can get more.....

RickLafayette 03-09-2013 07:06 PM

I just received an email from Brownell's advising they had shipped me 500 rds. of .223 that I ordered (backordered) about 6 weeks ago. That isn't too bad considering other places won't even take orders.
If you don't need ammo "right now" I would recommend Brownell's. Been dealing with them for over 35 years.

eman 03-09-2013 07:56 PM

missed a brick of 22 ammo at wally world by 2 min today. They got 1 in
