The Tackle Box has closed
 

I received word this am that the Tackle Box has locked the doors for good. I hope my good friend OB finds work ASAP. I hate to hear about a local business going under. I hope I can get in to get my rods and reels out.

Terrible news, I really liked everyone associated with the business. They were one of my first sponsors.

Jedi lure trick is the stores only employee besides the owners. He just started a pressure washing service. If any of you guys on here need pressure washing OB is your guy. I hope this just opens a new door to a great person.

hate that this happened... thought they were doing pretty good in that new location.

retail is a hard business. jsut cant keep up with internet and big box sales.

I have to imagine that one must sell a ton of fishing gear to cover the overhead... Hope everyone gets made "right" after all the smoke clears...

Is the only info available the fact that they closed?

If so, Something else is going on IMO. Typically places with inventory like that don't just close the doors without liquidation of some sort, or an attempt to liquidate. Either way, there would have been rumblings of their situation amongst their loyal customers and it would have leaked.

they did not liquidate down before closing. no information was given out, just a quick hard decision. He had someone interested in most of the inventory and I believe is looking for a few others. Just closed doors and got out before the start of a new month and new round of bills.

He did not even tell his only employee. OB received a text message around 11 at night to not come into work. I find that weird. At least call or have a meeting.

That's pretty weak.

Gulf Coast Tackle did the same thing when they closed down. Just packed up a truck in the middle of the night and left.
