sold the cape horn

Well sold the cape horn bay boat today anyone have a lead on another bay boat want to spend 10000.00.

Hebert 06-16-2013 10:18 AM

was it a "wet horn" or the new style hull? why did ya get rid of it?

haoward 06-16-2013 10:20 AM

It was the 2003 one lol ready for a bigger boat

haoward 06-16-2013 10:20 AM

The new style

Dink 06-16-2013 10:51 AM

Ill sell you mine. I'm moving up to a 24 or 26.

Dink 06-16-2013 10:52 AM

But you'll need more cash than that

haoward 06-16-2013 10:56 AM

lol I want another cape horn but those sucker cost too much.

Hey Dink, when you bought your boat out of state was the paperwork hard to do or about the same as buying a boat instate?

Dink 06-16-2013 11:28 AM

Still don't have a tag for my trailer. Other than that it wasn't bad. Buy from a private seller! Not a dealership or consignment! That'll save you a TON on taxes

meaux fishing 06-16-2013 11:35 AM

look in the classifieds... Camp Canard is selling his old one for 9600. Looks like a good boat you might want to take it for a test run

haoward 06-16-2013 11:36 AM

i seen a nice 93 cape horn on Craigslist 21' but I heard those year are a wet ride for 10000

Dink 06-16-2013 11:40 AM

$10K for that boat? Unless it is loaded down with all new electronics and every option imaginable there is no way its worth $10K

haoward 06-16-2013 11:49 AM

this is a bad time of year to be used boat shopping. Nobody wants to sell theirs while the weather is pretty and they can get out on the water. Just be patient and you will find the right deal...

haoward 06-16-2013 11:57 AM

sure will I would love to buy a boat out of state but I heard it difficult to transfer the paper work ect to louisiana.

Dink 06-16-2013 12:05 PM

Its not hard. Plus, no tax!

Slidellkid 06-16-2013 12:10 PM

haoward,

It's not that difficult. I bought in Florida and it was a snap. If you buy out of state from an individual there will be not taxes on it. If you buy from a dealer or broker there will be taxes. Texas does not have titles with their trailers and so you have to get the registration from the guy selling it. I went to the DMV and they told me if I had the registration they would make a title for me, but the guy could not come up with his registration so I scratched the Texas boat.

Be patient, something will come up.

Slidellkid 06-16-2013 12:11 PM

Dink,

What year is your 19 footer? Why are you moving up, are you mostly fishing out of Grand Isle now? I would love to have a camp down there but it a good haul from Deridder.

Yes, I believe Biggun had a thread about this last year when he went outta state to buy a Triton or something, may want to find that thread, he wasn't happy

meaux fishing 06-17-2013 08:52 AM

those old kenners are solid boats. 12500 is a liitle much though. Im sure you could talk em down

swamp snorkler 06-17-2013 09:09 AM

What boats list for and what they sell for are 2 different animals.

Everybody knows the old list it for 15,000 when you really want to sell it for 12,000 but would be happy with 10,500 trick.

haoward 06-17-2013 11:23 AM

How much would yall pay for that boat?

Depends on the shape of the engine and hull.....if the motor is in tip top shape and the floor has no soft spots I would say around 10k. Those old kenner hulls take the waves awesome.

If you look up the nada value on boat, motor, and trailer I would guess it would be around $8k. If the boat is in great shape I might pay $9-10K. Like Ryan said those Kenner 23Vs are one of the best bay boat hulls made.

haoward 06-17-2013 12:04 PM

Dang he sold.it already

swamp snorkler 06-17-2013 12:22 PM

Look for a 22' Triton Sea Flight

Dink 06-17-2013 12:40 PM

LOL, Can we use Monopoly money?

Dink 06-17-2013 10:35 PM

pocket change man!!!

I haven't stopped to look at it yet......looks nice tho!

Slidellkid 06-18-2013 09:54 AM

Sea Pro is a great mid-range boat. I owned one and it was dry riding. You really can't go wrong with a SV2100 (there 21 foot bay boat). They have pretty good resale value too. I bought mine for 17k and sold it for 18.5k

haoward 06-18-2013 12:04 PM

Does that boat have any wood.in it ?

Slidellkid 06-18-2013 04:26 PM

I am pretty sure it is all composite.
