So I laid my favorite combo to rest this weekend. Come to find out, you can't run over a Duce rod or a lews reel without breaking them... Sad dayAttachment 65875

Matt G 04-07-2014 07:15 AM

Did you try duct tape??

Rusty, I found that out as well. Found mine after a swim in the drink though.

mudman03 04-07-2014 07:23 AM

Where can one purchase a Duce rod? Went to website and it was down.

yea i wont be able to warranty this one hahaha

paublo25 04-07-2014 07:58 AM

Duce is on a return, I have a buddy that I fish with who told me and I have seen first hand their new rods(some new changes). There is a new backer hell bent on bringing this company back. Send me your info and I'll pass on the info and hopefully they can work something out. I don't want to pass out any info right now bc I know they want to get all their ducks in a row before they take off again.

Heres a Sneak Peak of one of the new rods! They are very nice and have improved from the last ones. Major improvment to me in the split rod seat for extra feel on the blank. They have also added some aesthetic changes as well like the Laser Burned DUCE logo on the newly added Cork Grips. This rod is as light as the last ones and like Paublo said, The new owners are HELL BENT on making this product work!!!!

BassYakR 04-07-2014 08:21 AM

That's awesome to hear man! THey are really one of the best rods ive used.... and id like to get a few more. anyone know how I can get my hands on some?

I agree 100%! Such a great rod and I'm so happy to start using them again!!!

They are finalizing the building of the 1st big batch and hope to start selling them very soon. I'm hoping by May.... DUCE will also be coming out with a Utility series (Bass Rods for specific uses like Cranking Stick, Worm Rod, etc), an offshore series and also Spin Cast Rods!! That way Chris D can use them:work:

BassYakR 04-07-2014 08:51 AM

hahah... I have a spinning rod from them right now... that John Saucier made for himself... I like it a lot but the handle length is just a lil too short for me.

SteelD 04-07-2014 09:03 AM

Sorry for your loss BF!

Duce always made a good product. It was their service that was lacking. I think they got too big for their britches to quickly.
I think railside feed in Broussard still has some. I just have a problem paying that much for a rod knowing that any problem I may have with it is mine alone to deal with.

BassYakR 04-07-2014 09:16 AM

Well im sure in the near future you wont have the issue with warranty again. Sounds like they are out to make a very good name for the company. Of course its goin to take some time to make up for the past issues im sure.

Matt G 04-07-2014 09:24 AM

So was there a change in ownership, or just a new push to make things better by the original owners?

Cool deal. Hopefully they can get it back on track. I know I love my Duce the few times out of the year I have time to hit the water... Are the new owners local?

BuckingFastard 04-07-2014 09:38 AM

dang... i need one. NOW!!

TroutSupport.com 04-07-2014 09:40 AM

Heck , what's wrong with the reel.. looks like it faired pretty well all things considering.

BuckingFastard 04-07-2014 09:58 AM

the reel broke the base off of it, bent the handle and cracked the case... it wont turn anymore. i tried haha

BuckingFastard 04-07-2014 09:58 AM

the base stayed on the rod

He is very serious about developing this rod company and will Stand by its Customer Service!!

Ducktrickster 04-07-2014 11:22 AM

Please refer back to the original statement I quoted

"Change in ownership" meaning out with old and in with new

That's business terms 101.

Btw
Don't speak for others unless they ask you to or tell you what to say:)

I guess being an idiot comes natural to some folks also. The guy is part owner of the company, i think he should know he's own business.
