New Dock in Delcambre

The new boat landing is Delcambre is officially open as of this morning. Read there is a $5.00 charge, can anyone confirm this to be true, if so is it one those machines like at the point or will someone be on-site collecting. Doesn't matter either way, just can wait to use it.

Montauk17 08-13-2014 09:00 AM

Saw on facebook it is 5 bucks and there is a electric machine similar to the point.

Looks like it is well worth the $5 bucks to launch there. How is the parking?

haoward 08-13-2014 09:28 AM

Hopefully the ramp is long enough for a big boat.

EpicCajun 08-13-2014 09:28 AM

Fantastic, I've been anxiously waiting for this!!!!!

toolpush 08-13-2014 11:06 AM

Looks nice. Gonna have to check it out.

Reefman 08-13-2014 11:14 AM

Nice to see a really great facility in Vermilion parish. North Pier Marina is turning into first rate marina among the cruisers running the Gulf coast. Good job T-boy and Co.

Bdub 08-13-2014 11:45 AM

Thats a really nice launch!

fishfighter 08-13-2014 11:54 AM

nice

that is awesome, i like how they put the dividers in the middle of each ramp so the cooyans will know that you should be able to launch two boats on each side, i bet there will still be somebody in the middle, hopefully this means less people launching at avery island the parking there is horrible!!!!!

toolpush 08-13-2014 12:38 PM

LMAO
fishfighter, they would have to put a retaining wall between the lanes to stop that from happening:rotfl:

cmac23 08-13-2014 12:59 PM

WOW!! That looks a really nice launch!!!!

Goooh 08-13-2014 01:24 PM

fishfighter 08-13-2014 01:25 PM

permit

anybody know if they have a yearly permit available like they have in st. mary parish, i just tried to call but you know how it is to get a government official on the phone!!!:shaking::shaking:

Mr T 08-13-2014 01:53 PM

rumor is that there is also consideration of similar launch to be built in Intracoastal City. Landowners are being contacted by the parish.

Mr T 08-13-2014 02:02 PM

where exactly is the new dock? on which road?

alphaman 08-13-2014 05:27 PM

Looks like it at the intersection of S railroad and Charles street. You can see it on Google maps. But it's just the dirt area that you can see. Anyone has pictures of the area. are they finished with it?

haoward 08-13-2014 06:10 PM

Just got back from checking it out, very nice launch with a few fishing pier also. Cost to launch is $5 and if you are just fishing or drove your car out there it's $2. A lot of parking also

Did it look like you could launch a long trailer?

haoward 08-13-2014 07:23 PM

yes seem like you could

alphaman 08-14-2014 06:50 AM

Might start launching there instead of driving all the way to the point. 30 minutes drive verses 1 and half drive from my house

haoward 08-14-2014 07:33 AM

The boat ride to the mouth is a nice boat ride also just gota watch out for stuff in the water once in awhile.

As I understand it, it's actually in Iberia Parish. The Parish line cuts across entrance road. By the time you reach the launch, you're in Iberia Parish.

It's about a 7 mile run to the mouth

20 mins doing 33 mph give or take a few

deepblue2 08-14-2014 06:52 PM

You should be able to launch any boat you can tow. Someone asked about the parking. Parking is set up for truck and trailer. I'm guessing there are at least 100 parking spots, roads in parking area are paved and parking area itself is limestone.

Nautic Star 08-14-2014 06:56 PM

The launch is in Iberia Parish. Looks Great.

Cletus3173 08-14-2014 11:17 PM

Good deal, can go back to launching out of Delcambre. The old launch by the bar was pretty tight for anything over 18' and parking area always changed day to day.

If you unhook it from your truck it shouldn't be a problem.

Lol

alphaman 08-15-2014 04:50 PM

Is it open yet. Might launch there in the morning if i go.... Try and catch mullets then cruise to the pass.

haoward 08-15-2014 04:57 PM

Yes it's open make sure you pay tho. Seen a cop checking for the tag

redaddiction 08-15-2014 08:14 PM

That's sure a long boat ride to the pass from there. I'd rather drive to the point. A lot more can happen on a long boat ride than the truck ride. IMO

alphaman 08-15-2014 08:16 PM

The shrimp festival is going on this weekends so I won't be launching there.
