North-Northwest of Mud point. That land has eroded probably 300-400 yards from where it used to be. So people are always fishing in the wrong spot now. You have to be a good ways off the point to be in the area of the old trash pile.

Yes, it's a little west of the picture shown above.

You just mad I gave out your croaker hole.

bgizzle 10-05-2014 09:47 AM

It's to the west of mud point. And a hair south. That's what I've always known the trash pile to be.

I posted this a while back but here it is again.

In the late 1980's we did a survey of the boundaries of the trash pile for the Port of Iberia.
The coordinated we found are as follows:
N 29° 47' 29.9760 W 91° 52' 20.2476 TP1
N 29° 48' 19.4142 W 91° 51' 59.5938 TP2
N 29° 48' 18.7992 W 91° 50' 58.3506 TP3
N 29° 48' 2.11320 W 91° 50' 46.2444 TP4
N 29° 48' 1.49400 W 91° 51' 28.9722 TP5

Connecting these points closing with a line from TP5 to TP1 defines the area. I hope this helps.

When this survey was done mud point was about 50 yards due south of TP4. Boy, things sure have changed.

Ragin_Cajun 10-08-2014 10:20 AM

jsm9437 10-08-2014 11:16 AM

X2, the hill and the bottom.

I am literally 1 mile from the hill right now

specktator 10-08-2014 01:47 PM

Heard the crabs are biting well at "The Bottom". Get you some turkey necks from Amanda's Grocery on Railroad. Or a couple of MD 20/20s.

Brickyard too far north. Maybe after a few more cool fronts, they will move up there.
