Ribeye Cap

Anyone know of any places that sells the Ribeye caps? Ate supper at Ruffinos in Lafayette tonight and had one of those, and it was awesome. Thinking, I want to get a few to do at home.

meaux fishing 01-07-2015 08:39 AM

Call local butcher shops and ask, some of them call it the roll. I can probably cut you some, but it wont be till march or april.

speck-chaser 01-07-2015 10:28 AM

calcutta37 01-16-2015 09:59 PM

Sometimes a man has to treat himself and those around him Cappy. All you need is 8oz, some of the best meat you've ever had has to be worth a 10 and a 5 right? We've all spent more than that for pleasure before!

Cappy 01-17-2015 11:05 AM

Sorry didn't mean to ruffle feathers I love to treat my self but it aint gonna be for 30$ beef I aint got many principles but to me thats just WRONG I am glad yall can afford it but even if I was powerball winning rich I still wouldn't buy it.

eman 01-17-2015 12:02 PM

I will let y'all keep the cap. Best piece of beef i ever put in my pie hole was ox tail .Prepared properly, some really fine stuff.

Don't brag too much e. Word will get out and the price will triple. When we was young ya could buy a cow tongue for .40 not per lb but for the whole thing. Now they wont let ya lick one for that.

eman 01-17-2015 04:37 PM

Yep. Back then the butcher would GIVE you all the chicken wings you could haul off for crab bait. Was at the grocery few minuets ago and they were $2.99 lb.

eman 01-17-2015 04:38 PM

Ox tail cooked in a red wine reduction is fantastic. I reduced 2 bottles to 2 cups and used that.

Ilovestohunt 01-18-2015 08:11 PM

Never cooked a ribeye cap. You throw on the grill with salt and pepper?

eman 01-18-2015 10:53 PM

swamp snorkler 01-19-2015 07:03 AM

{SACARSM}[ON]OFF

Ox-Tail is the nastiest crap ever, thats the party that knocks the dingleberries off the pooper!..... DON'T EAT IT.

{SACARSM}ON[OFF]

I am now in the mood for ox-tail! Best I ever had was a Cuban Restaurant.

eman 01-19-2015 05:44 PM

My boss gives out cases of a semi decent Merlot at Christmas every year. Most of the warehouse hands wouldn't know a Merlot from ripple so they trade it to me for some smoked cheese. Great stuff to cook with.

Cappy 01-19-2015 06:04 PM

I would trade ya too I am a sweet wine fan preferrably from a friends batch of muscaydine or jap plum.
