I've never fished these tournaments before but it sounds like a lot of fun.

What is the purpose of only allowing 1 trout over 25" to be weighed? It seems like if the purpose of the tournament is to catch heaviest 3 trout then only allowing 1 over 25" is not really rewarding the fisherman who does the best job of locating and catching big trout.

I'm just curious what the reasoning is behind this. Maybe that is TX limit? The rule definitely would not affect me or my stringer!

Yeah Mako....it's a dumb TX law... 1 trout over 25" per person per day. we had to throw the 1 fish over 25" rule on it since there is no way to tell who caught the 2nd biggun. Also 1 man teams are allowed, so we needed a way to keep it fair for them.

What's this noise about not fishing until 6:30? Why does it matter? Good fishing light is before 6:30, how would you ever know if someone started casting before 6:30 anyway? It should be changed to first casting light.

Honor system on the rules. We came up with 6:30 on the rules by googlin the legal sunrise time for p.a. on aug. 29....then subtracted 30 minutes...aka legal shooting time for hunters.

We had to define start time somehow, and "legal shooting time" made sense

Its daylight here by 5:50 tho... especially in late august

Well..... sleep in a little. As i said...we used legal shooting time as a reference. I know you don't hunt bassyakr, but legal shooting time ain't very bright. And idc what anybody says...... 5:50am on big lake on aug. 29. It will be plum dark.

June 21 is the solstice.....sunrise increases about a minute every three days after that. Ask a duck hunter how bright it is at legal shooting time on the opening day of teal season. Its bout right for fishing.
