Watched it last night....Loved the Marine they interviewed about his 16 shot and 16 kills in Vietnam in 1969 using his M-14 and a star light scope! Someone needs to take him deer hunting!

My dad has a friend who was a Marine sniper in Nam. The few stories he has shared with my dad have been hair raising. I shot with him when I was in high school and he could do more with a 1911 pistol than most of us can with a shotgun! I watched him shoot a pill at over 40 yds with it!

The Nam sniper interviewed last night was truly an amazing buy though!

It was hard to go to the bathroom cause you didn't want to miss anything.

The sniper story about shooting the Iraqi sniper that was an impossible shot.
He aimed something like 12 ft. above him and 8 ft. to the left, due to winds
and bullet rotation and BAM, KILT.

Bad arse show.. I hope it plays again i missed the second half of it.

I missed the first half...if it wasn't for Big flounder, i'd have missed it all :cry:



I missed the best shot or whatever they kept talking about thru-out the show...


I loved how he put a cap in that dude by shooting thru the guys scope :eek:

I caught some of the late broadcast. I should have taped it.

The precision shot of taking out/pin pointing the skull to vertebrae bone for instant death before hitting the ground. Awesome.
That 50 cal rifle is the ****.

I can't imagine making a kill at 1 1/2 miles,"Towelhead" did not heard it until he was already dead. If anyone here reads, get the book "Sniper" or Bio of Carlos Hathcock. Both are excellent reads that you will finish in mere days.

They had one for sale at Lafayette Shooters last week for around the same price I believe, a buddy went there and saw it. He said that gun is so much bigger than you would expect it to be.

Can you just imagine firing off 30-40 rounds from that cannon??:eek:
The marine sniper they interviewed about Faluja said it got uncomfortable after about 20 rounds and he was a big ole boy.

yep that was a good show, i like when the sniper shot through the brick wall with the special 50 cal. bullet and killed 3 guys in one shot

Yes, that was an amazing shot...He said when no one ran out from behind the wall, he knew he had killed all of them...Exceptional marksmanship and training..

Death from Afar is a great read

Just got finished watching it. While growing up,I always thought if I would ever join the military,thats probably what I would have wanted to be. They had a 50 cal. bolt action at Cabelas last year. They got it out of the back for me to look at. The gun is huge and weighs a ton,and the barrel is big like a muffler.
