What happened to the ducks

man we hunted lacassine this weekend and i didnt see hardly any big ducks flying. Where did they go??? Oh and for the people who skybust. STOP IT. all you do is wound ducks and cant find them. I must have seen this guy skybust at least 6 or 8 ducks and there was no way he was going to find them.

Shawn Braquet 12-28-2009 12:41 PM

we are still holding a decent amount of big ducks as of now, im kind of like R Little and crossing my fingers and stay. This weekend they were working to the calls and decoying very well considering it is 2nd split.

SULPHITE 12-28-2009 12:54 PM

I know where they aren't...struck out again in cameron...not even a shot fired.

longsidelandry 12-28-2009 01:18 PM

Has anyone heard if they are killing around Wax Lake and Shell Island?

These 2 fools have a blast sky-busting...Especially the one on the left....But when they sky-bust, that ole lab in the middle retrieves perfect for em!

yak'em-n-stack'em 12-28-2009 02:27 PM

all sky busting does is scare ducks into never landing into decoys or responding to a call again

Report I recieved today said that no ducks are being killed at Wax lake outlet. Atchafalaya delta had some good reports the last week of the first split but have heard nothing since the second opened.

Shawn Braquet 12-28-2009 03:20 PM

hey that was one time and the next time we had ducks I remember someone not being quick enough!! lol:work: Nothing like ducks decoying though to still have people blowing a call at them when they are hunting with you. talk about flare some ducks.

all star rod 12-28-2009 04:16 PM

What is funny about the sky busters is they unload their guns on the birds and then start to call!:*****:

Shawn Braquet 12-28-2009 04:18 PM

all star you never know they may not have known where the shooting came from lol

Your still young...

I hunted right next to the Henry property for 25 years. My pond was next to the one Fool hunted at.
I knew a lot of the older Henry's who hunted over there, but in the last 10 years or so, it is all new hunters. Most of the older ones went to the sea marsh to hunt cause there was always fighting over ponds.

SULPHITE 12-28-2009 11:06 PM

yep...its a weird deal. my bud is really good about sticking to the family rules though...

huntin fool 12-28-2009 11:17 PM

They always had family fights...thats why we don't hunt no mo

SULPHITE 12-28-2009 11:19 PM

yep...I'm just lucky enough to be able to hunt there and am very appreciative...always hunt with him never without him...thats where it the trouble starts.

Shawn Braquet 12-29-2009 09:55 AM

would think there would be some birds down there, wasn't long ago ray said he saw some on the south side of Big lake. Who knows here today gone tommorrow, dats da ducks motto.

LaAngler 12-29-2009 12:43 PM

If i'm hunting public marsh and I will take passing shots no problem, especially with a good dog. I remember one time in sabine i crumpled a big general speck at over 60 yards with a 3" #2, the guys in the next pond were cheering! lol

one pellet hit the bottom of the head
