ok, just wanna know if someone can shed sum light on this .ive seen several people"includin myself" fish a pink bubblegum bait:flukes,shad,corkies etc..... what the heck is it supposed ta resemble. i try ta match the hatch so ta speak. but a bubblegum color? what does it mimic? and why do fresh and saltwater species love it so much?

I actually had a conservatoin with the fellow that made corkeys about pink baits at his shop. He told me he couldnt sell a pink bait in the 70's and 80's but it became the rage in the 90's. He has the most confidance in the flesh colored baits; he thinks the pink ones just catch the fisherman.

LOL I know. Just when you think we have it all figured out.

BTW he gave me some "Flesh" colored baits but I never really used them. We can be a very hardheaded bunch.

i agree.confidence is a must in bait selection,color and presentation.ive been tryin these jerk baits for three years and while they dont produce all of the time,they do produce the biggest fish.they dont blowup on em,they kinda "slurp" em.if that makes sense.ive even thrown a red jerkbait and absolutely massacred the big gals on the flats.but, it only happened three times and on a particular moon phase(i aint talkin):eek:
