My little sister saw this and snapped a picture of it.
It was on the road behind Kelly's store(old Shell Sta./Kajun) almost to the
Mermentau River. I was surprised they were there so soon after Rita.

BellPepperHead 02-25-2010 03:51 PM

That is clearly a black panther. Send it over to LA Sportsman so they can fight about it.

Ribeye 02-25-2010 03:55 PM

Dont do that, they will be doing a special about the best bob cat spots in SW LA.

In the field across from Cormie"s grocery on Big Lake rd.......I saw 4 foxes [It might have been a female and 3 cubs] over near the tree line. This was ~ 10 years ago.

Can anyone identify where this picture was taken? This was at 10 AM back in Aug. '07.

Yep.....just east of the Port of Lake Charles. The Doe was walking along the road stopping a few times as I speed by in my boat. I turned around and took several picture as she hopped the fence to the big house.

I was told 10 years ago that a nice Buck and seveal Does lived in the wooded areas along the east side of the Calcasieu river in the city of Lake Charles. This picture confirms that at least 1 Doe still lived there a couple of years ago.

B-Stealth 02-27-2010 12:02 PM

Got a buddy who lives on river road and I think they still see em around.

catch.and.fillet 02-27-2010 04:47 PM

Back in December, on the 12th actually, I played a round of golf at Lauberge. We hit our tee shots on the 10th and drove down the fairway. Two does walked out from the grass on the left and fed among the few short pines right along the fairway. They appeared very comfortable and didn't mind us at all.

They are there.
