Well after being an abu garcia man for a LONG time I was told to try a pinnacle *never ever had one in my hands before* so very reluctantly I bought one! Fished with it all day and well have to say I had To go can and get 2 more exactly like it! For an 80 dollar combo that academy let me have for 49.99 I now own three! They have jumped way above my pro maxes which I was very surprised!!

Whatever you do, don't let saltwater touch that reel. I learned my lesson about pinnacle early

Lol saltwater tends to have a chronic affect if it does

What pinnacle reels?
I've got two of the older pro series. The goldish ones. Been having them for years. First two reels I ever bought and I still use them. They are my favorites and I've been using them in saltwater with no problems

There's plenty of cheap reels out there that do the job. For instance I used Pfleuger presidents for a few years of torture, leaving them in the boat for a week at a time in the sun and rain, never cleaning them, banging them up....and they've done great and haven't had any performance issues. I just got a new Revo S and honestly prefer my old presidents when it comes to feel....I've had a fair share of issues with the revo in the handful of trips I've taken since I got it.
