Blood Oranges

Anybody know when to pick them? They seem ready now. My tree is a good sized 7-8 years old and has a lot of oranges this year. They just aren't turning red inside...

Here's the tree.

Were they red on the inside last year?

I'd eat one, if its good... start eating them.

About the same on the inside. They taste good.

Have they ever had the blood red color???

FYI.... my oranges usually are ready to eat by mid to late November. I would say the oranges hit there "peek" flavor by early Dec. and start loosing quality by the end of Dec.

Mine are just starting to turn. The peeling will start getting dark lines when ready.

The peels will start to turn reddish. We don't use our blood oranges till February-April. We have about a 15 year old tree

I picked about 150 of blood oranges within the last 2 weeks.... all were very, very good! most were dark red with some still blush color

Most of ours fell off the tree in the hard freeze. We were able to juice most of em

Our navels all fell off we peeled much as we could whirred em in the food processor. amde orange jam out of them. Sadly we lost all our lemons. They froze through and through and turned to mush. This happens every 4 or 5 years.
