Heddon and Rap-a-la

You're right, SULLY

MulletBreath 07-12-2009 10:33 PM

heddon makes spooks, i like it in anything with chrome in it. i think rapala makes skitter walks and i seldom throw em because i can chunk the spook much further. great topwaters either way. target reefs and sandy banks early in the morning with a tide moving and bait in the area and you should be gettin blow up after blow up. hoppin out the boat doesnt hurt either.

thanks guys. I'm offshore right now but I'll be home Friday evening. Should be on the lake Saturday bright & early. I'll be giving this top water stuff a try. I have a few bombers & top dogs in my box already.

You Right:grinpimp:

LaAngler 07-12-2009 10:49 PM

don't be afraid to throw them under birds also

MulletBreath 07-12-2009 10:53 PM

only thing about under birds is treble hooks delay gettin ur line back in the water. but ur right LA, it works like a charm.

Let a buddy throw the tops and, when he gets a blowup...throw that Bomber right behind it. AUTO-MATIC!

You Nailed It

Follow these instructions and you will catch fish. The best way to find out whats on the bottom of the lake is with your feet.

jsmoke222000 07-12-2009 11:28 PM

Sweet. Sounds like these will work some magic in the shallow area just south of long point.

MulletBreath 07-12-2009 11:31 PM

huh, i might be there in the morning ;)

jsmoke222000 07-12-2009 11:38 PM

Let me know how that turns out. Every time I hit that spot there is bait everywhere with fish hitting them on the top of the water. Usually good for a few nice slabs. Good luck!
