Question Top water baits on Big Lake.....

Ok, I am seeing alot of reports about you guys catching fish on Big Lake using top water lures. What lures are you throwing? What colors? What areas of the lake?

heddon makes spooks, i like it in anything with chrome in it. i think rapala makes skitter walks and i seldom throw em because i can chunk the spook much further. great topwaters either way. target reefs and sandy banks early in the morning with a tide moving and bait in the area and you should be gettin blow up after blow up. hoppin out the boat doesnt hurt either.

Let a buddy throw the tops and, when he gets a blowup...throw that Bomber right behind it. AUTO-MATIC!

Default You Nailed It

MulletBreath;22920]heddon makes spooks, i like it in anything with chrome in it. i think rapala makes skitter walks and i seldom throw em because i can chunk the spook much further. great topwaters either way. target reefs and sandy banks early in the morning with a tide moving and bait in the area and you should be gettin blow up after blow up. hoppin out the boat doesnt hurt either.

Follow these instructions and you will catch fish. The best way to find out whats on the bottom of the lake is with your feet.

Sweet. Sounds like these will work some magic in the shallow area just south of long point.

Let me know how that turns out. Every time I hit that spot there is bait everywhere with fish hitting them on the top of the water. Usually good for a few nice slabs. Good luck!
