Venice Bulls
Today I ran a trip for Fish on guide service. The customer requested big reds. I was at a place a few days ago that was good but the bite died shortly after I got there. I started in the same place today and we were hooked up almost at once.
http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69796-002.jpg The 2 sons were doing well with the fish. It was game on right from the beginning. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69797-006.jpg Dad was loosing some before they got to the boat. These fish were ripping the hooks right out of their mouths. After 4 or 5 lost fish dad finally gets one in the boat. It was a nice 28 pounder. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69798-020.jpg For the record our smallest was around 18 pounds. We kept nothing at all. I did take 56 pictures though. From 11 till a bit after noon the bite slowed but never stopped. We had several doubles. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69799-019.jpg I even got into the act when they were too tired to take the rod from me or they were hooked up also. I only had a chance to hook 3 fish today and had to fight 2 myself. One of them was a double. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69800-035.jpg Here is another double. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69801-026.jpg We also did battle with several Jack Crevalle. I think we landed 6 of them but lost a few during the battle also. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69802-028.jpg This was happening a lot. As I was taking a picture another would hook up and the reels would scream. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69803-047.jpg This was our last double of the day. http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthread...-69804-056.jpg It was a day of father and son memories. The type of day that they will talk about forever. I have the same 3 guys tomorrow and I gave them the option of slot reds and/or trout but they want more of the same. They are charging all the camera batteries and cell phones tonight in preparation for tomorrow's action. I have set the bar high and hope the fish are still there tomorrow. Our biggest today was 31 pounds. Was it a good day? Hell Yes! Life is Good! Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that. CAPT HOOP -- OUR FREEDOM |
