last day in the swamps
Well, we finished up our last hunt in the swamps today. The temp. wasnt that bad,but the wind chill was kinda brutal. I was figuring it would be a good killing day with all of the below freezing temps a little higher up north,but just turned out to be a fun-not so much killing-day instead.lol Didnt see bird 1 for the first 30 minutes. Saw only a few pairs of wood ducks, of which we shot 2,and 1 flock of big ducks off in the distance. There wasnt enough warming action to keep us in the blind for a late hunt this morning. I included a pic of my retriever, He did pretty good this morning. He was 1 for 2. Its really just his first full year of retrieving,but Im still working with him. All in all we had a pretty good season considering all the high water on the lease. Already looking forward to next season.
