Pond Redfish!
Dularge Trout/Redfish Action!
Saturday morning was like a race to the finish line. The weekend flotilla of boats arrived and a good spot to fish was hard to find. No problem for the Landsource crew as they came down the previous night and enjoyed a great meal and lots of laughs. Shawn Whitney worked his magic in the kitchen and Capts Marty LaCoste and Travis Lovell helped out with the 3 boat trip. All 3 boats headed off the coast in seach of trout but ended up back in the ponds whacking redfish. I fished with David Patterson and his son Scotty. Scotty's friend David joined us along with Colin Gravois. We hit the beach off Last Island finding nothing but a few small trout and big ground swells rolling onto the beach. Boats everywhere as we worked the backside of Raccoon Point without a single bite. Decided to move to plan B and it was a good choice. We worked over the duckponds catching redfish on LSU chubs and gold spoons. My crew filled the box with nice reds averaging 5-9lbs with 20 fish caught by 1:00p.m. The reds saved the day as they sometimes do when the trout are finicky. Everyone had a good time! Good luck fishing.
