The supposed mild, southerly winds were straight out of the north this morning at 15+ mph! Water was at 48-49 degrees which is a bit cold for much trout catching. Fished around the Cove and Point area with not a bite to show for it. Didn't see ANYONE catching any fish today. Closest we came was my 8-year-old foul-hooking a two-inch pogie!
We grew tired of the wind and nothing biting and left around 2:00 or so. Also as a heads up....prepare to get an anal pucker when crossing the Bayou Stumpe Bridge out of Lydia. They've got it closed down to one lane with cement barricades with not much more than 8' of clearance!
When I passed over the actual bridge I MAY have had 3" on each side of my fenders.
Don't know why they had to go to that extreme, I didn't see any road work. They are rerouting the road and replacing a bridge further down at the Bayou Patout Bridge, but it's not nearly as bad as the other one. Oh well...on the bright side no fish or boat cleaning!
