Shimano says that their absolute best reel for saltwater applications is a Chronarch 100D. That is, if you are wading. From a boat, Calais is the best application. Now, at these prices, I understand that they are not for everyone and I am not trying to sell 'em. I'm just letting W know that a Curado, while it is a great buy in a reel, it is nowhere near the best. Totally different guts in these reels.
