Default Nice ones in Turners

Big Lake produced some fat healthy yellow mouths on Wednesday afternoon. When you launch in 15 to 18 MPH North winds you worry (well I do any way) about what kind of bite you will be able to find. We ran to a place that has been holding bait and fish for a few weeks. Found the stiff wind had the water a bit off color, but the bait was still around. Made a few drifts and picked up a solid 7 lb trout that ate a Chicken on a chain tail and one small red on top. We made a short run and found better water and more bait in waste deep water. In a short drift the One knocker produced a good blow up. Thats all it took for Warren and I to put on the gear and hop out. The next hour was pretty darn good. 4 Trout made it to hand from 5 to 6.5 lbs. Countless blow ups, several un buttons and broken off 2 times!!! Any topwater bite is good but 5 and 6 lb trout blow ups are GREAT.
