Ok Gents, I read each and every post and I appreciate the replies both in support and the "negative" coments.

As for me needing a slap in the face(coachlaw) I believe I am a grown man and I recognize the value of your comments...however, this child was NOT in class and understand this child holds the HIGHEST gpa at this school and is in each and every concievable club and is an athlete to boot. I work nights and she does ride the bus to school, but because of the activities she is involved in she is forced to walk home 99% of the time. The issue here is SAFETY and her CIVIL RIGHTS are being violated by refusing to give the phone back.

I have a 15yo niece in the same parish but different school that had a teacher PHYSICALLY reach into her pocket and remove her phone, which was powered off, and this was witnessed by 6 students and 3 other teachers and a parent. They refused to return the phone in the same manner. IS THAT NOT THEFT?

I have spoken to other teachers and the coaches at this school and they all agreed that the policy isnt right, especially when you have kids that are in extra-curricular activities.

Are they better than the other students? Absolutely not...but they choose to excel above the rest and attempt to better themselves and YOUR DAMN RIGHT THEY SHOULD BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY!!! They sacrifice a lot to be in the clubs and sports and I am sure many of you on here did exactly the same when you were in school and were treated somewhat differently. If you say nay to this then I say you are a LIAR!! I was a scholar student and athlete and I was treated differently, but I was also asked to do many many extra things for the teachers, office staff, principal, and the coaches in addition to having to do my own homework and keep my grades up.

AS I STATED ABOVE THIS BOILS DOWN TO SIMPLE PETTY THEFT AND TODAY I CHARGED THE TEACHER , PRINCIPAL, AND THE SCHOOL BOARD WITH JUST THAT. I probably wont get any satisfaction, but I will be heard in the next school board meeting.

The only way I will back down is if the principal apologizes and returns the PERSONAL PROPERTY THAT WAS STOLEN!!!

OR DID I WAKE UP ON COMMUNIST CHINA TODAY????
